Hey everyone!
so I am a die hard runner. Run between 5 and 8 miles everyday and love it! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what the best post run meal would be? Also, what is a good pre workout for running? thanks :)

Tons of carbohydrates. A moderately high carbohydrate meal ~1.5 hours before a run is adequate. During the run only need water if lasting less than 1 hour in duration any longer a sports drink will suffice since they are designed to be isotonic / hypotonic in osmolarity for ion exchange (electrolyte balance) and glucose absorption.

I like to run on a nice breakfast of oatmeal with protein and a banana. Afterwards I consume usually 50-60 grams of carbs in the form of a high protein/carb shake.

Check out the book "Advanced Sports Nutrition" by Dan Bernadot. Lots of good info in there for runners like yourself.
