UFC Undisputed 2009, thoughts?

Yeah, I find the escapes incredibly easy. Even when I deliberately chose BJJ as a style and worked by sub., offense and ground grapple offense, I submitted only one person. (My last fight, actually.) I found I knocked them out far too soon to sub them, as apparently submissions are best made in later rounds.

These are some things I hope they correct in the game:

a) Gaining specific advantages from different camps - at this point, all you gain is general technique points, so having the names of different camps seems irrelevant. You should gain points in categories that are only attainable through camps, as this would really increase strategy - i.e., if your guard needs to be sick for a fight, training BJJ with BJ would be better than Nog.

b) More variety of fighters, even if they are fabricated. I got sick of fighting the same three people once I had attained the title, especially considering the wide-range of fighters selectable in exhibition mode. As well, maybe the real fighters can progress as well?

c) More customization in create-a-fighter.

If they made these improvements, and keep the gameplay relatively the same, I would crown this over FN series.

Stop duck'n me.

j/k, those are all actually very creative ideas. I'd back up that investment.

Submission is actually very very easy to pull off. You just need to know when. First, advantageous position. Then you block their transitions and land a few strikes, wait until their stamina is below 30% and make sure yours is higher than his at that point and then you go for the submission. After that, start spinning the right stick (in order to gain a submission spinning is the best method) and you should be golden. Key word is stamina.

Yeah, oddly enough I have tried all that. My ground striking is always quite high, so I tend to take people down and wear them out. On my BJJ guys, I usually try subs from mount/side control, but then again, my BJJ guy was a WW against people with good sub-D.

How's your submission offense? I seem to have very little trouble with that, got about half of my xbox live wins with submission and had quite a few in career as well (not as many as I'd like as I'd step in the fight with 5 - 10 stamina)

This is just my ground game, which is actually my primary and the only way I've ever won online.

90% Take Down Offense
95% Take Down Defense

90% Ground Offense
95% Ground Defense

100% Submission Offense
100% Submission Defense

I think it said I have a 105 character :dunno:

Strength is at 95%, and my speed & stamina are around 75-80%. If I want to be cheap and get 1st round wins, I just go straight for rolling, but I don't ever seem to play on Live unless I'm kind of drunk, in which case, I play for fun and take rounds to the 3rd.

I get people sending me PM's telling me that I suck because I took so long to beat them with a CAF character and I'm usually drunk and apathetic to their comments, but I answer them truthfully, "I released all my subs on purposes for the first two rounds and took it to the third for fun." :wave2:
