Betaine HCL - Maltodextrin and Carbs

I am new to the AD and I was wondering if I need to be concerned about the maltodextrin in my supplements. I take Betaine HCL.. sometimes 3-4 caps per meal due to the high protein/fat content of the AD... Could the maltodextrin and other various ingredients be the reason I am not yet in ketosis?

Thanks.

It's doubtful that the amount of filler in the caps would give a lot of carbs, even at that amount per day. The easiest way I found to push into ketosis was to hit cardio hard since it will deplete glycogen stores. How long have you been on AD?

Today is my 5th day, so it may be too soon. I have not been to the gym as suggested so it's possibly why it's taking a while. The keto stix register nothing. I'll try some cardio this afternoon to see if I can speed it up.

Thanks

Yeah that's definitely the difference right there. Your body can hold around 2,000 calories worth of glycogen in the liver and muscles alone, so if you haven't reached a deficit that has forced that level of glycogen to be burned, then your body still has carbs on hand to burn. Hit the cardio hard and you'll be gtg.
