Going for a run with MMV2+H-Drol

Why am I not surprised at all by this! I look forward to flipping out a few times.
But I just have to try and take a breath with my kids and wife. They don't deserve the rage but some people do really deserve it.

I am not sure about that. Sometimes, my wife and kids are the only thing that really piss me off. Last night the wife really had me aggrevated and was not letting up. I was biting my tongue some, but still was giving her a piece of my mind.

I hear that. You'll have a good day at work, good work out and come home to total chaos! Nothing like that to blow you stack! But I've found that fighting with the wife never helps. It just prolongs the agony. Just deal with it and move on. Ask what she wants from you and then do it! It sounds punky but I've survived many fights just giving in and biting my tongue off.

And the kids are a different story! We have a house full of stuff and they have to fight with each other over the same toy? Play with the 4,000 other things that are all over the place! Lucky I was an only child. I couldn't handle that crap!

One of 9 kids myself...some classic battles for sure!! Agree with you on minding the tongue Matt...the wrong word and all He double hockey sticks breaks out with the wifey. Much less drama and carnage with a simple ok that's cool response..

I was an only child as well. My wife was one of eight and wonders why I am selfish. I have had kids for 10+ years and so long for quiet time.

I have a 17 yr old and now a 5 yr old...I had my quiet time so close!!

I knew we were on some of the same wave lengths for some reason. Only's! It's a great group to be in.

My wife has 2 sisters and wonders why I can't understand why they call each other multiple times a day. Freaks.

You had your quiet time SOOO close! Tricked by the wicked ways of the woman? Its all good I'm sure.

And I have found that holding my thoughts gets me much farther like you said. Just hold it in and move on. Live to fight another day.

You are a wise man my friend.

And I have forgot to mention the more important part of my day. My H-drol related back pumps are basically gone. Into the 4th day of PCT and they are pretty much over with. I still get a little tight, or pumped, but its not nearly what it was like during that last week. I am still keeping the water high but have dropped the Taurine and they have gone away. I was taking like 9-10 grams of Taurine a day at the end. I really wonder if it helped at all. But its over so its all good.

Tomorrow is a workout as well as saturday and sunday. Feeling good and will update accordingly.

SHOULDERS/LEGS

A good day. Legs were run through fast and furious. Nothing special to really report.
A solid pump and minimal rest needed. My calves felt likem they were going to burst from the pump.

Shoulders were strong again. Presses started with 70's. 10 reps. Moved to 80's and 90's for 10 reps each.
Side laterals light to force a pump were killer. The pump I had was the best in a long time. I had taken a caffeine bump before going today so that helped for sure.
Onto rear delts on the pec dec. I turned my hands over on the handle and found it hit a really nice spot in the rear delt. Banged out 3 sets of moderate weight and my entire shoulders were buring up. Thendid machine laterals and rears on a different machine. 3 sets each. Starting to really feel it. Ended with some machine over head presses. I was able to rack the machine for my final 2 sets of 10 reps which was a first. Still felt really strong at the end of the routine which was good.
Then we went to some wide up right rows to hit the outer shoulder head and super setted that with shrugs. Traps and side delts were smoked.

So I was basically spent when we walked out. Legs were tight and tired and shoulders were smoked. Front delts were on fire. Tomorrows land scaping around the house should be awesome especially after going to do back in the AM.

BACK

Biceps were skipped today because my honey do list was just a bit too long. I am needing the arms to be fresh to tackle all of the land scaping my wife has planned.

So we hit it up early. I ditched my wrist straps for the first time in, well ever. My Dad had been riding me about forever because he has never worn them. So I left them and it wasn't too bad. The warm up chins were a little rough but the reps were the same. I managed 3 sets. 7,5,5. Lugging my heavy ass up there is no picnic.
Then we started with the hammer strength iso front lateral row. I read the sing and may still have the name wrong. But worked for 4 sets and ended with 3 45's on each side for a set of 8. Grip felt pretty good.
Went onto incline wide bar rows for upper back. 3 sets of moderate weight. Felt a a good spot and the pump was filling.
Went to t-bar rows. Hit them hard heavy and deep. Ended with 5 45's for a set of 12! About passed out at the end. Had to lean on a weight rack and breath through the nose for a few seconds. But the grip stuck with me so it was good.
Then finished with wide bar pull downs. 3 sets of moferate weight to fllod the back and be out.

Feeling really good. All sysytems are a go and I feel that I have lost no strength. I'm not really expecting too but its possible. Recovery times are still minimal and I am sore. So its still going well and thats all I can ask for. Week 1 of PCT will be under the belt tomorrow night.
Time to watch the Yankee's blow yet another lead to the Sox. Crap.

Good cycle bro, nice read too, im trying to catch up on everyones logs, some words of wisdom spoken here too about family problems, ive learnt to keep my mouth closed, or otherwise get my words twisted, its safer this way.

Dude, of course you can't.. He has 100 pounds on you.

He just might have a few more pounds of muscle there to move that 310. I still can not imagine weighing that much...that is some intimidating size Matt!!

Dude, I can't imagine what arms look like that can pull up a 310 pound man.

My arms are about to be able to by booze. Right about now I'm rolling on 20's. Of course they aren't a shredded 20 but whatever. Mostly tricep too! My bi's are strong but have never blown up. My old man has peaks on his that are pretty serious. Especially for a 62 year old guy.

have you measured bf to see how much gain is LBM.

I've not had my BF checked in years. I was more into judging my pants size and shirt tightness. My 2x's are getting more snug in the arms and chest so that has to mean something. That and I'm seeing some veins where there were never any, ever. So there definitely was some thinning. Overall a very positive experience.

Hey thanks for stopping in a checking me out Russian. I have read a few of your logs. Awesome!
I hear you about the family stuff too. Thats why I like to let things be wild and off topic. Knowledge shared doesn't just have to be lifting related. We all could use some other ways to handle issues family or otherwise. And I think I am going to go with the mouth shut method for a while. Though it back fires once in a while because I'm "bottling up" my feelings! Go figure! But for now I'll stick with it.

What's next for you?

I don't think I could pull myself up with a 45lb plate strapped to me much less 310. Holy crap you are strong!

I've always prided myself in being able to do dips and pull ups at my body weight. I've seen a lot of bigger guys do dips but pull ups are a different deal. Not saying that I can do a lot, I'm actually shooting for 10. So once I hit that I'll be pumped. But the smaller guys that strap weight to themselves and then do them make me sick. Strength! I used to hate the kids in gym class that could do the peg boards with no problem. I couldn't even get one hole up!
So the pull ups are a work in progress. But the dips are solid. They have helped me a ton with inner chest development and tricep develpoment as well. I do them with my feet in front and chin tucked into my chest. Go down as deep as possible for the deep stretch and then blast up. It is sometimes hard on the shoulders so taking it slow at first is key. But these have added mass all over. Not to mention raise some eye brows when you see a big ass dude do a set of 10 or 15 dips.

Do you do either of these? I hate them but the proof is there. They work!

I've been trying to imagine myself weighing around 250 for quite a while but can't let go some of the hard earned muscle. I have taken you advice and cut the carbs way down, but not quite out of my last meal. Not too bad. I get a bit cranky and then go to bed. So we'll see. I am going try and be more disciplined over the summer. But I will also be looking to get some T-911 and Anadraulic State so I may have to feed that beast!
But for now I'm lingering around 305-310. And feeling mighty strong through PCT up to this point.
I missed the chest workout this AM. The wife had such a list of chores that I started early before it got really hot and got them done. But it will get done tuesday. So that will be the next work out update.

And maybe the Yankee's will win a game in Fenway tonight. I can dream right?

I am a big fan of dips and they are a usual staple of mine. However, after last week's chest/triceps workout I was only able to hit 5 reps when I usually am able to do 3 sets of 10+. Dips typically have my triceps torn up moving my big ass up and down. I will be hitting dips for sure tomorrow! I also am able to do pullups with reps of 10, 10, 5 and 5. It wasn't that long ago when Timber was busting my balls about the weight assisted versions. :hitit:

C'mon... but now you're a believer. Assisted dips and pullups are for guys with vaginas.

I wouldn't quite say that I'm a big fan but the results are undeniable. I do dips a bit later in my chest/tri routine. By the time we get to them my chest and arms are smoking. Try them with your feet out in front of you, chin tucked in. Much harder than the traditional feet crossed behind you.
I used to do them with DB's attatched, in my younger days. But then my shoulders started to revolt and I went back to just body weight. But I have used a 125 DB for a set of 4. How's that for pounding your shoulder joints? Not a great choice but that big DB hanging low made me feel cool. And my Mom told me I was cool so I believed her.

And the pull ups are the worst! I do them free because I don't want to be that guy with the assisted machine. I am only doing a few reps but they are on my own. I don't need a Timber hazing myself!

I probably wouldn't haze anyone over 250. Everyone else is fair game.

I know you are a ball buster by nature. It's a good thing. Hazing has to come for the assisted pull ups and light curls in the squat rack. I don't care how big dudes are.

And I would guess that you wouldn't shy away from anyone. When you are on the ground in a clinch that can make things even up fairly fast. Us big guys tend to get tired pretty quickly. Thats when the Timber Ground and Pound attack comes in handy.

I can't do regular dips anymore. The shoulders scream in revolt. I have been relegated to the dredded bench dips. I also think it takes the chest out of the equation. I just load up the olympic bar across my lap and pound away.

Hey TL...I'm 206....bring it!!

Haha, thats cool man. I know how joints get as you age. I dig that you guys know that you may be a few years past your prime, but still killing it.

I'd probably just let you chase me for a couple miles, then turn around and take a few cheap shots.

I was getting to that point where my joints, my left shoulder especially, where giving me fits. But I upped my fishie and take the cissus and they really have been good lately. My elbows too. Of course I am very warm by the time I get to the dips in the routine now. I was showing some guy the form with the feet out the other day with no warm up. BAD IDEA! Eveything was screaming.
I may be getting older.....

Yea, miles plural would not be required. Maybe blocks in the dirty would suffice. I am pretty quick for a short distance but get progressively slower after that. :yuck:
But I used to tell the little punks back in the day that you can't run forever and you have to sleep sometime. :saevilw:

Funny thing Matt...my old man used to say that to me when I would run out of the house after messing up.

True that...and the time I finally didn't run...knocked the F*** out. Respected him alot more after though. One of those "Right of Passage" moments.

My dad would always tell me not to act up, because he had "one good fight left.."

Now that he decided to stop lifting, gives up 30 pounds to me, and I know how to fight - I tell him he lost his window of opportunity...

It seems like we have all been gifted with wisdom from our fathers. I did steal that one from my Dad as well. He would use that because we are both of the same basic build. Though he is now roughly 230.

Timber, one good fight left is a classic. I may use that in the future. Thats a keeper. And you still mouth off because you have the training to back it up. He must love that!

Nah, I never mouthed off to my dad... ever.

We don't speak very often anymore... unfortunate.

Wish I could talk to my Pop...never even got to see my kids. I would love to be able to talk with him now.

He will be gone and then you will never get the chance. I talk to my mom everyday in Florida. It really makes her day, you would be surprised.

You guys are making me tear up. :crying:

I'm very lucky to have my Dad as my workout partner and he has been for the past 10 years. Pretty much the high light of my day. I sometimes think about him not being there and it doesn't even register. But I'll have to deal with it at some point so now I just try to go big each time we go.

I bet that call to Mom makes her happy too. Best part of her day.

That father talk cracked me up. I remeber as a punk kid learning karate and getting to big for my britches my dad said "you might know karate, but I know tire tool". That still sticks with me.

As a father of sons I would rather die than to lose their respect. That being said I have many years before I have to cross that bridge.

CHEST/TRIS

After work lift. Felt good. Schedule has been a bit unsettled so I had to squeeze in the workout on a weekday. But got caffeinated and let it rip.
Started as usual with Smith Inclines. I was going for more reps than real weight. Did 10 reps with 2 45's, then 2 45's and a 25 and then final set I made 8 reps with 3 45's per side. Tri's failed before the chest did but the reps were brutal. Plus I think the rest times were low because I was on fire by the time we started. But I felt good.
Moved to cable crosses and forced some blood in.
Went to incline Db's. Started with 75's for 10. Went up and did 85's and then 90's both for 10 reps.
Then we went to Db flies. Squeezed and tretched my way through 3 sets. Stretch felt really nice.
Then we moved to dips. Got out 3 sets of 10 again but they were really tough after the reps earlier.
Then onto pec dec. I keep the seat really high to squeeze the lower pec. Its a good spot. Moderate weight to really blow out the bottom of the chest.

Then Tris.
Started with the 8 sets of 8. I had moved up a plate so its the 9th plate. Pretty frickin heavy. But I was able to grunt groan and yell my way through the 8 sets. Arms were pumped beyond belief! Felt like they were going to blow off at the elbow. They are still really sore today.
Then we finished with push downs and ropes. Moderate weight for a final squeeze.

Really solid workout. Pumps were awesome and strength was still there. My body weight has been up and down through the week though I ate my regular daily diet it was up so who knows. But I am having no issues or sides to speak of. The Formex/PCS combo is doing the job. Back pumps are gone and everything else is good.
I was just a bit worn down from the heat yesterday. 91? what happened to spring? it went right to summer but today its back to normal. 60's. We'll see.
