NSC for Cholesterol?

I was wondering if anyone has had their cholesterol tested before/after using Natural Sterol Complex? Plant sterols are suppose to have a very positive affect on cholesterol levels, mainly reducing LDL. My cholesterol is a bit high once again (250), but my ratio is ok (4.6). The Doc wants me to retest in 6 month. I ran across NSC and it looks like it could be a good supplement for me.
Thanks!

Nope but give it a try and let us know how it works for you! I would really be interested to know.

I may just do that! The profile of this looks pretty good. Any potential issues running it for 6 months straight?

i had really high cholesterol about 5 years ago.

you can try the NSC (i liked it when i used it), but to reduce cholesterol i'd suggest:
1) reduce your consumption of refined carbohydrates (complex carbs are ok)
1a) eliminate (or greatly reduce) your consumption of HFCS and refined sugars.
2.) increase your consumption of fiber (oatmeal is my favorite)
3.) try a good EFA (O-3, 6 mostly). i recommended Anima Omega. i use Omega and a presecription O-3.
4.) exercise (i'm sure you're already doing that though).

I cannot overstate the importance of adding Niacin to your supplement regime. It will (1) reduce LDL and (2) increase HDL. Once you get used to the Niacin flush, its a slam dunk.

An excellent read on this is "The All New Eight Week Cholesterol Cure".

Thanks for the tips. I'm somewhat carb sensitive, so I try to avoid those all together. I wonder if the reading is somewhat skewed though. I ran a 4 week cycle of 11oxo which ended about 10 days prior to having my blood done. I'm not sure what kind of affect 11oxo would have on blood cholesterol.

hmm Im not sure about the 11oxo but Joey is right with what he said. Animal omega would be a good choice as well.

I have a canister of animal omega at home. I take it 2-3 times a week, not daily. I do pop fish oil pills daily if I don't take my animal omega.

how much fish oil per day? You could try megadosing it.

J-Dawg says that the Plant Sterols help lower cholesterol levels so I'd say give it a try for sure.

Just take a statin... aka the miracle drug.

Cholesterol is serious, so i fit isn't down considerably in 6 months from your changes. He will throw you on one of them.

I'm also running this with Universal Genesis right now in place of my Animal Pak until I'm done with the NSC. It just makes sense.

how do you like genesis? I have been pondering picking some up... looks like a solid replacement for pak for a month or so...

It's completely solid. The easiest way to describe it is to think of it as sort of Animal Pak meets NSC together. So that is why I like to run it when I'm using NSC. I take one less dose of NSC everyday than is recommended on the bottle because I'm getting that dose from the Genesis. It makes the NSC go further and the cycle last longer and it is also just a good way to switch things up for a bit.
