hey guys i take about 2-3 protein shakes a day..i take no explode, creatine monohydrate and glutamine, fishoil, and a multi vitamin. I have seen these pills that are just bcaas and you take them to help with protein sythesis or some bs...would taking these and zma with the other supps make any significant difference?

If you are taking in adequate amounts of protein, there is generally no reason to supplement with them. Just save your money and buy some good steaks.

There is plenty of BCAAs in the protein you are already eating.

Additional amounts of zinc/magnesium prior to sleep can help. Some people don't like ZMA because of the inclusion of b6. Some people get excitatory effect from b6.

Stick with basics, dial in your nutrition, follow a sound training program, get plenty of rest/recovery, and worry about the more exotic supplements later.

I am gonna completely disagree. Free form aminos are extremely different than taking in a steak.

I prefer them in powder form(more bang for you buck) and I notice better endurance and recovery.

thanks guys, you think that more bcaas would be even more benifical to a guy who trains 5 days a week?

I personally would suggest around 10g+ of BCAA during your training session. They are cheap and effective as far as endurance and recovery. I'd say they are essential if you have longer workouts and are trying to make strength gains. You don't want to starve your muscles of nutrients during your workout.
Some people sip on them throughout the day...I don't have the money for it, but I think during a workout they are a great idea. In fact I would place BCAAs over glutamine, but I'm not expert :)

im in a werid situation man, im decently cut in my arms and chest just alil fat on my lower abs so im kinda just going for an overall tone up i guess it be cutting, but size aint a bad thing but im not trying to get fat so im taking my time....any tips?

Cool.

I personally would recommend doing some empty stomach cardio 5-6 days a week. Get up early if you have to, and knock out 30 min each day. You can up it as you see fit....not sure where you are at exactly right now. Limit it to 45 min tops.

You want to take BCAAs 3 times a day.

1) as soon as you wake - right before the cardio (eat NOTHING else) Ignore what others say if they disagree with me - this is working for me and I'm not losing muscle.

2)Drink them while you lift to prevent muscle catabolism.

3) Drink them right before bed to protect your hard earned muscle while you sleep.

Later.

thanks alot man....you you give me some products that are good bcaa products...just gnc brand or what???

Xtend watermelon!!! Purple wraath was good. Has added beta alanine in it. Xtend tastes amazing and their are solid studies on it too. Can't go wrong with it. Other than that for protein I take 4 shakes a day. Morning, 1hr pre workout, after, and night. I do glutamine with the morning shake and pwo too. I would switch out no xplode. Its mostly caffeine. NO pills will give you more results. You won't get as much of a energy boost though. Altered state on the other hand is a great NO product that has caffeine in it for that extra boost. I would definitely recommend it. Fish oil take 1800mg a day. Make sure your creatine monohydrate is creapure. Haven't taken ZMA before but it seems good if your deficient in those minerals. What multi do you take? and what protein?

The two aforementioned products are solid. Honestly, the brand probably doesn't matter very much, but those two listed are easy to stomach. Some of them can be pretty bitter if that kinda stuff bothers you.

While the protein he is already eating has plenty of BCAAs, additional supplementation(primarily leucine) is beneficial and inexpensive.
