Need to Drop the Weight. Please Read anything and everything is greatly appreciated

Hi my name is Big B; I am 17 Years old and in need of some help. I have approximately 3-4 months until I am supposed to enlist in the Coast Guard. I’m currently not even close to their standards for body fat presage or weight. But I was hoping to get a little help. Only thing they see me for is my Test scores and potential. Yet this is what I want to do.
Just for a heads up, I currently Take NO supplements other then a protein shake after a good work out, no multivitamins, no nothing. So I think that may also be a key factor in doing this more efficiently and effectively.
I have been going to the gym for about 2 to 3 months between 3-4 days a week working out, doing approximately. 30-40 min a day of cardio spilt between the Elliptical and treadmill, and some lifting, nothing over done, but I can feel the burn and cannot feel my muscles when I am finished, which I believe is a solid work out.
I have been eating well (to my standards, and is not bothering me a bit), No soft drinks, no extra snacks, lean meats, salads with FF dressings and everything, consuming roughly 2500-3000 calories per day, and spreading small meals throughout. From this I have lost a solid 15-20 pounds (deepening on what scale.) But I am stuck, which isn’t good, I can’t seem to drop anymore pounds or body fat percentages. I already tried switching up my routine yet still yielding next to no results, which to be honest is quite discouraging. (Eventually it will be warm enough and I play on swimming at my house for extra cardio)
So I did some research and have been looking into two options, or a combination of both, Or you may have a completely different idea. One being, a new diet, purely liquid (28 day diet, then after continue a strict diet, unsure of what.) – The Velocity diet (sure you all know what it is.) To drop some pounds right away, for some help and encouragement. Then trying a new Program called P90x. This fits my time frame. I am able to sell some things to compensate for the expenses involved, which is seeming to add up very easy.
With the Velocity diet I have working out my calorie intake to be between 1900(non-training day) and 2300 (training) Calories per day. With a estimated intake of 285 Grams of protein. Then keeping the carbs to fewer than 120g per day. I will be receiving all this via Protien Shakes, and other supplements. Also with this diet I plan on attending the gym hitting the weights like never before, and hopefully with the help of supplements and other drugs, legal. So here’s another problem, I am not sure what is what, with so many options I want my money to go toward something that is the most beneficial. From my research this is what I have come up with, which may not be good, but better then nothing:
What are your thoughts on the following, weather they will be necessary and in what amounts. These are my reasons for getting them. PLEASE correct, suggest specific brands and tell me if I am an idiot (I don’t mind) for attempting them *these are my interpretations of these drugs/supplements etc:*
Beta Alanine: Extra energy
Branched Chain Amino acids: helps maintain muscle rigidity
Taurine: UNSURE, someone did mention it though
Ce2 Hi-Def Creatine: Longer more explosive power
Orangtriad Multivitamin: Nutrition gaps.
Milled Flax seed: Good fiber Low carbs
Fish Oil: Cannot hurt
Fiber: Makes me more regular
Protien Mix: It’s given. Need a good brand with low cards high protein.
Hot Rox: Help with burning fat
Lots of good ole’ Water: Keep me good and hydrated
v8: To help with sodium and other nutrition gaps.
Caein Protien: Before I go to bed so, keep you full, dissolves slowly.

Me:
Age: 17
Weight: 285 Pounds
Height: 6 Foot 4 inches
Body Fat: *37%*

Measurements (in inches)
Waist: 46.5
Stomach (belly button): 46.5
Neck: 16.5
Mid thigh: 30
Triceps (flexed): 15.5
Chest: 44.5
The body fat was done on a machine at the gym that you hold out in front of you, yet not sure how accurate it is.

Desired/Needed:
Weight: 226, (this was determined by a wrist measurement and a chart yet I can be a certain body fat which is):
Body Fat: 23%
Measurements, don’t mind, just need to be physically fit, don’t care about looks, or being “ripped,” although will be nice.

Please I am open to all criticism, help, suggestions, and any other cleaver ideas that are Healthy, I don’t want to jeopardize my overall health to drop weight, which can always come right back on if done wrong.

The P90x may be put on hold until after I do this diet because I will be tied up with paying for all the expenses. Yet I will still be attending the gym and hitting weight harder then ever, doing what it takes, and hopefully start seeing results ASAP.

P.S: I believe I know how to lift properly (I do in general 3 sets of 10 reps of mild resistance) I do have the motivation, just not the time. Sorry for the first long post asking for everything but giving nothing in return. Hoping to get some assistance anything is greatly appreciated.

About everything you listed will get you to lose weight...

The only question is if you will actually follow through.

I am currently running the Velocity diet, and there are tons of logs and even success stories from the site, it does work. Given your high % of bodyfat you should see slightly higher results than average. Assuming you stick to it. Im on my 3rd day and I can attest to the fact that its absolutely brutal.

60lbs in 3-4 months seems borderline, but perhaps possible. But it will be hard. Pick a diet you enjoy, to lose the weight you are describing it will likely have to be a rapid loss diet. And stick to it. Although if you are going to use the velocity diet I dont think its recommended that you should be on it for more than a month or so. So if you go that route try and find a healthy diet to work into for another month, and maybe run another velocity.

P90X is a good workout. Ive done it a few times and its VERY tough (at least for me =P) to get through the entire workout. But you can take breaks as needed and work your way up. But all in all, If you are hurting for cash you can find plenty of very good workout routines online, and just train cardio and HIIT hard. Will yeild similar results cheaper.

Good luck.

Wrong. Vitamins should be taken regardless. But theres really no weight loss pill that will lose the fat for you. 95% of it is going to be your diet and training. Suppliments will only help if everything else is in perfect order.....and then even then dont expect miracles, it just "helps".

Best of luck in your weight loss endeavors. Whatever you are unable to take off before you enlist, I am sure they will get off you at camp.

Thank you for choosing to serve. You are a hero. Read through the threads. The folks here are full of terrific information.

Whatever you are unable to take off before you enlist, I am sure they will get off you at camp.

As far as I understand, the BF% needs to be at standard BEFORE they are even able to enlist. So he would have to meet his required goal before bootcamp.

Also the Coast Gaurd is next to the Air Force in terms of how picky they are in who to recruit. I almost joined a few years back, but then decided on college.

Anyway good luck man. And regards for serving our country if you make it in!

Thanks for all the information and motivation, but I believe that is prior(BF%). Anyhow i have lost 2 pounds since the post, so it is still moving. I play on doing the V-diet in the next 2 weeks.

Will be ordering the supplements and protein soon, any have suggestion on brands/sites/etc? thanks again for everything, really appreciate it.

trueprotein.com is a good place for protien.

If you doing the velocity diet the blend TEAMSKIP is a good blend, gives both whey/micellar and egg protein. And dont skimp, get the premium flavors because a day or two after drinking nothing but protein shakes you will be glad you did.

nutraplanet.com is a pretty good place for other supplements. Pretty cheap and free shipping right now.
