It's been like this for a while now. Am I the only one? I'm on a 15mb comcast line, everything is PAINFULLY SLOW. It's going to take about 5 minutes for me to create this post. Every other site on the web is blazingly fast. Pretty sure it's not my machine.

HELP? Am I the only one? Not even worth trying to read if this is just how it is.

We've had one other complaint about the site being painfully slow from a Comcast connection, though the other one was in Southeast Pennsylvania. We tried to troubleshoot it, but the Comcast technicians were less than helpful and it didn't end up going anywhere. Comcast techs are of the mindset that "We're Comcast, it's never our fault", unfortunately.

That being said, my home connection is a Comcast cable modem as well and the site runs great so it would appear to be some sort of sporadic Comcast issue.

FYI, I think the other guy that was having issues ended up getting some sort of proxy software on his computer and after that the site ran super fast for him. You can try seeing if the site loads faster through anonymouse.org or any of the other free public ones.

Are you in an apartment complex? If so, pay attention to the time of day that you are able to browse faster than other times. What a lot of folks don't know, is that when you are on cable, you are not on a dedicated highway. You are actually sharing bandwith with other folks in the area. DSL (dedicated subscriber line) is a better way to assure that you get dedicated badwidth. Now I know you said that other sites are fast, but you might be just browsing, so they will be fast. Don't expect AM to move as fast as other sites that do not facilitate user interaction. As for AM, depending on the time of day, it may move faster than other times, because most guys are at work (unless they are like me, and access AM from work, lol) or school. I know AM is using load balancers which helps to route users to the correct server based on the load that the other servers are suing or how many users are logged into the other servers. Another thing to consider, while you may have a 15mb line, you may not be actually getting or using that much bandwidth. Go to this website and test your up and down speed

I'll call them today and tell their techs that we have a second case of this and let you know when I hear back.

LMAO, right. They are the ones who got hijacked last night during their broadcast of the superbowl and had porn televised for 30sec or so. They have no idea what happened.
