How much water should I be drinking

I have just started training 3 days a week and consuming around 3000 calories. I'm going to be using whey protein and creatine and wondered how much water I should be drinking?
I've read about a gallon but then again read never more than 4 litres?
Can anyone help?

normally i'd say 8-10 pints a day. Plenty during your workout.

i'm doing just under 2 gallons at the moment.

Thanks chub, I was worried that I might flush out the vitamins/ protein etc if I drank too much but if you're on nearly two gallons then I guess it'd fine

na your good. The more you drink while on creatine the better. my multivits say on the back to drink at least 1-2 gallon a day. I try to keep my pee clear all the time. If its really yellow or almost orange you know your not drinking enough!

Usually when your pee is yellow, it means that vitamins are being flushed out of your body that aren't being used. B vits in particular. It doesn't necessarily mean you aren't drinking enough. Keep in mind if you take a multi, it will make your pee yellow green. I usually drink a gallon or more a day. 1.5 when I used to take creatine, but that has been a long time ago.

I would say 2 L or just about that per day.

I have brothers who are deep into working out and that's usually what they take.

They are on all sorts of supplements and drink gallons of water!!
