Jacked Question

i was going over the ingredients in jacked and realized that theophylline is in this stuff. this is a prescription drug that was used to treat asthma and fell out of favor because it has a very narrow window for it to be effective. is this a typo or did yall really put this in the product. i am confused. thanks.

Yes its from Guarana but asthma medication is dosed at 900mgs but we use theophylline for a different reason..

and that is??? how did you all get away with putting a prescription drug in a supp. how much theophylline is in this stuff anyways

You ingest Theophylline every time you ingest Caffeine, ludacris. It comprises roughly 4-10% of Caffeine as its third major metabolite [Paraxanthine and Theobromine being the other two]. Despite its use in therapeutic situations, labeling Theophylline a prescription drug in that connotation is a bit like calling Caffeine a narcotic! Like other methylxanthines, Theophylline is used to increase cardiac contractile ability, increase heart rate, and cause central nervous stimulation.

well mullet when in med school we learned about theo in a different way. you learn it is a prescription drug that fell out of favor bc of a narrow therapeutic window and some nasty sides when too much is taken. thanks for the clarification mullet

Well, I would counter that the side-effects associated with Theophylline are due to the narrow therapeutic dosing window itself; this narrow range most likely due to individual variances in the various C-P450 enzyme subsets responsible for its demethylation and hydroxylation [into active pharmacologic metabolites]. Different rates of metabolization produce variable accumulations of Theophylline's active metabolites, accumulations which are unpredictable based on age, race, gender and so forth.

This being said, the dose of Theophylline in JACKED [even at three scoops] is nowhere near encroaching on the upper-ranges of therapeutic dosing [remembering there is an 800mg clinical range].

Not a chance. Move zig for great justice!

There's no way I'll let you set us up the bomb.
