precontest supp thread

Solid pics bro. You are definitely going about this the right way and taking it light and controlled. You'll be back at it full force in no time!!

All right this has nothing to do with nothing, but I thought I'd throw some images out..

That moment just before the pain begins...

Brutal..

Day off today, having a carb meal tonight and looking forward to rocking shoulders tomorrow morning. Will update pic & weight then. Getting excited with the recomp, feeling pumped again.. and I hear Prime is not far away! Things are good!

Training today was off the chain - just felt awesome this morning, best workout since pre-injury by far. Actually moved some decent weight on the shoulder press.. followed with DB front raises, DB side laterals, then skullcrushers, V-bar cable pressdown, DB kickbacks for tri's. Strength was good thruout..

Been having some awful sleep (4 hours last night) and weird dreams lately, can't pinpoint if the sleep is the SNS stack I'm doing or not, since I've always had problems sleeping. However, all summer I've been sleeping decently, 6-7 hrs./night mostly, prior to the supp change. I started taking melatonin (3mg) about 5 days ago to alleviate this, and that might be the cause of the dreams - my wife says after she takes that for awhile she has weird dreams too. Sounds logical to me.

Weight at 192.8 upon rising, note that I had large carb-up meal prior to bed. Update pics..

Bro!! You have some awesome symmetry, size, and conditioning is staying tight. Those arms rival millers, can't wait to see what you bring to the stage once your all healed up and ready to get your shred on

Appreciate that Ben! The support from you guys in here is definitely motivating, absolutely helps me keep pushing. Especially coming out of my self-indulging depressive state, gives me that extra little motivation to get things on again..

Awesome workout this morning, ran some fasted training upon waking just to change things up, nailed the chest with flat DB press (4x8-15 + drop set), decline DB press (3x8 straight sets), incline BB press (3x15 straight sets), finished with explosion push-ups. Still conscious of my shoulder, so I just played w/ 100 lb. DB, but felt great thruout. Gonna take this up next time..
Followed with a dextrose/creatine/Isopure ZeroCarb liquid shake 30 minutes later, then the wife ran me around the tennis court for an hour, got me my sweat on something fierce. Gonna be a high carb day today, kick the thyroid into gear & load up for squats tomorrow..

I'm tightening up bigtime, abs are popping out - this next update pic is gonna be on! At the same time however, I am noticing slight water retention in certain places. Kinda hard to gauge whether this is still from the softness I was carrying around prior to hitting this, or if it's from the TTA. Water retention is a noted side from TTA use, and I'd probably lean to this being the cause. Still ecstatic with the overall progress of the stack however.

I CAN NOT WAIT to get some Prime added to the mix! :aargh: Things are going to be taken to another level! :saw:

Excellent progress so far...anything in particular you are trying to bring up this offseason?

Sporto

Hey Tommy, how ya been man? Ain't seen ya in awhile. You still gonna be at the OCB?
Offseason work is gonna be focused on legs & back (as always, still feel these are my weakest points). Also looking to fine tune my arms a bit, have a slight imbalance going on.

Had to adjust the workout on the fly today, my left knee was hurting from yesterday's tennis action. Don't know if I'm unconsciously favoring that leg to keep stress off the right calf or what, but it was tender as hell, so I did a gay workout of biceps, forearms & abs. Got a great pump in the bi's, but I say gay cuz I can't remember the last time I just did bi's/forearms by themselves (probably back when I was a newbie). Tri's were not ready to be hit again yet, neither was anything else. Since I'm not in any set routine tho it's no big deal, still training instinctively. I'll try to get my legs in tomorrow for sure. Standing wide-grip bb curls, preacher EZ-bars, reverse bb, finger curls, db hammers, 6 sets abs were the order of the day. Weight at 190.2 upon waking.

Instinctive training is so hard for me to do. I need to go in with a plan of attack otherwise I just confuse myself with so many options. Keep playing it smart!

Guess that's an advantage of training for so long. I've always trained mostly on the instinctive side, find I make steady progress this way. There are times I step into structured programs tho..

The knee felt a lot better this morning, but when I did my first warm-up set of squats there was immediate tenderness, so I adjusted on the fly again. Managed a couple sets of very light sumo-style squats, got some heavy leg extensions in (this didn't bother me), then hammered out some pulley work (front kicks; side sweeps both in & out) before finishing up with leg curls. Followed with 12 minutes steady-state on the glider, 12 minutes biking on flat ground. The glider has been great due to not stressing the calf, and added bonus today was it's low-impact on the knee as well. Intentionally avoided calf work this day, will hit them later in week.

Yup, you're right bro, it's beating me up this year. I really should shut it down till spring, but it's the end of summer & the U.S. Open is going on.. the wife pesters me to play, and I truly love it. I'm not going all out, but I'll continue to get some matches in. Going here to get smoked by the wife in a minute in fact..

Here's the latest pics, from yesterday. I'm holding some water from the Tetradecylthioacetic Acid I'm taking, but leaning out as well. Seems to be working as advertised. Weight was at 192.0 upon waking, confirmation of prior said water weight.
The wife was being lazy, wouldn't get up out of her chair, so the angle is kinda different..

Fasted tennis upon waking for an hour & a half (consuming high BCAA's thruout of course - BCAA usage is coming close to off-cycle time). Everything was feeling really good this morning, no shoulder issues, knee was great, and the calf was really flexible, still swollen but so much better now. Was sweating like a dog - maybe I sweated out some of that water I was holding, cuz I look a bit tighter after the match, weight still at 191.1 waking. This is day #19 of TTA usage.

Ooooh, sore as hell from the tennis yesterday, felt like I got hit by a mack truck. Rolled out an awesome chest day early this morning, incline BB press, flat DB press, single arm pec pulley, finished up with bw dips. Other than the dips everything was in the 6-10 rep range, moving up in weight. No issues.
Feeling extremely pic happy these days.. actually, I'm just glad to see my chest filling back out a little bit.

Awesome progress your making bro.
I just got my prime in and started it up this morning, can't wait to get in the gym and crush back and delts. Also got a brand new camera yesterday so I may start to get pic happy too.

Thanks man.. I'm starting to get excited myself! Gonna curb my pic-happy self for awhile, next pic will show some serious improvement..

It's ON!! Woke today to some serious fullness, veins, and seeing my abs again! The uptake in carbs is having the desired effect on me. Water retention seems to be a bit subsided this morning (which would make sense, as the increased carb load is drawing water into the muscle cell). Looking forward to the next 10 days - things seem to be coming together well. Kinda wish I didn't have this planned cheat at Red Lobster coming up Friday.. well, only kinda! You only turn 37 once in a lifetime..

Legs today: still conscious of knee/calf issues, so warmed up with sets of leg extensions prior to squats, staying in the 5-12 rep range on normal stance, ATG, going up to 315 for final three sets and following with a burn out set at 135; felt pretty decent, but not confident enough to run lunges yet. Followed with leg curls, Romanian deads, and 20 minutes steady-state glider.

Good to see your getting excited about the improvements! :)

Hey Bolt! YES, I am. Takes a lot to get me excited, but things are progressing..

Off day. Woke this morning at 191.1 again - which is exactly where I was three weeks ago - only the BF% indicator on my scale reads 2% points lower. Now this scale is not the most accurate reading %-wise obviously, but it does track BF loss fairly well, so let's say BF is down 1.5%. Still holding a bit of water weight, so I'd guesstimate I'm around 7.5% now, feels right. Might even be closer to 7%, just can't tell with the added water. Not bad for a three week period..

Ran a back/bi protocol this morning that I hadn't done in awhile, 50 pull-ups (25 behind neck, 25 to chin), followed by various-angled pulley sets, then incline bench DB rows; incline DB curls, BB curls, hammer DB curls. Had a great pump, arms were pythoned out, lats flared..

Threw some Armageddon into the pre w/o mix, my brother gave me some to check out (never done before), gotta say first impression is not favorable. Used 1.5 scoops, got decent energy and pump as advertised, but stim effect had some nasty sides (shakiness, heart-pounding) and stomach was not digging it at all. I'll try it again next workout..

Thanks Joe!

Don't like the name Armageddon? Haha, you're showing your age my man! It does seem like the supp companies cater to a "younger" mindset, from the names of products to the description/write-ups. It's all intense, power, hard-core, jacked up advertising these days..

Great shoulder/tricep workout this morning. Gonna get my grub on at Red Lobster in a few hours.. mmmmmm, looking forward to it!

Off topic:
I realized a life-long goal of mine yesterday. My Chrysler LHS came down with multiple problems all at once (shock/strut issues, AC compressor blew the other day, trainy was showing signs of going out), so it was time for a new car. Was under the gun a bit too, as I'm doing some serious job travel here starting next week. So.. went car shopping yesterday, found me a great deal on a BMW 740iL. This is a car (along with the big Lexus or Acura sedans) that I have always wanted to own; can't believe I've finally got one! What a way to ring in my 37th year!!! :head:

Bro I've tried the Armageddon and the Evolution X10 samples, those things taste beyond awful, lol.
Have some good eats at red lobster for me:food:, congrats on the car, and happy 37th!

Ha ha, yes I am old.

But as far as cars go. I am first in line to get the new Camaro next fall. It has a back seat, so the kids will be fine,

Nice. Joe's keeping it sporty!
Are they really making the back seat bigger than what it used to be? I always loved them cars, one of my fav rides I've ever owned was a 91 GTA Trans Am, with that 350 LT1 engine. Had some fun times in that car - but the back seat wasn't one of 'em! Not too functional for adults, haha..

Wife snapped a few pics of the new toy, thought I'd throw 'em up for the thread..

Oh yeah, nailed the chest today! Strength was just off the chain, went up to 275 on my incline bb bench with no shoulder stress, manhandled the 115's for my db flats after that. I haven't seen my chest this inflated since earlier this summer, circa my avi pic to the left. Also did some decline db presses and ab work. Just a great session. Wish my wife was here this morning to take a pic..

On the bodyweight side of things, woke this morning at 194.0 - my w/e splurge definitely apparent. Planning on trimming back the carbs/fats for 2-3 days to rectify things, keeping carb intake limited to grapefruit & fibrous veggies.

When it comes to weekend splurges, AP and P-slin are a must. I always feel better about a w/e splurge when I take some AP and P-slin and then load up on sushi or hispanic food.

Was planned 30-minute cardio day today.. I wanted to check out the new "Perfect Pull-Up" handles that my wife got me for my b-day present, so I started playing with these a bit. I installed a regular pull-up bar in my garage ceiling last summer, but I thought the handles on this would be nice to give me different angles to work with. Sooo.. what was supposed to be just checking it out turned into 50 pull-up session (I liked the new angle obviously), and since my bi's had a pump & some veins going on I figured wth, did some bicep/forearm work. Never did get around to the cardio, ahaaa. No worries; unless I'm in contest mode I look at cardio as a bonus, def. not mandatory. Besides, got some marathon tennis planned for Thursday..

One day with pulling carbs back seems to have really gotten me back on track. Filling out some more, leaning out at same time, fun stuff.

Awesome training session this morning, hella pump on the delts/traps/tri's.

Couple pics to gauge the rapid progress of the past few days..

I have heard the perfect pull-up is really cool and i guess you like it as well :)

Random note i think that vein that runs up your calf is cool and glad to see everything start to come together again as you get past your injuries

Thanx bro. Haha, yeah I like that calf vein too! :D What I don't like is the swelling that still exists in that calf, it's taking forever for the last stages of healing to take place.. I was warned of this, just thought I'd be different and heal quicker!

I REALLY dig the perfect pull-up grips. Still have DOMS bigtime this morning, the angle allowed me to hit some new fibers I believe..

Off-season Mode Begins...

Well all good things must come to an end they say, and so it is with great sadness I must now end my very first AM thread..

No longer in precontest mode at this point; in fact, tomorrow begins my serious off-season training. I received my Prime today, and it's time to unlock the USP phenomenon. Been off PowerFULL and Recreate for awhile now, and I'm bringing them back into play as well. I'm looking to do some great things here this winter - time to add some muscle to this hustle.. :woohoo:

My shoulder is as good as ever now, and my calf, despite still having some swelling going on, is ready to be pushed hard again. I'm after some PR's on ALL lifts in the next couple months!

I may start up an off-season log, depending on time constraints. If so, I'll post a link in this thread. My business is getting ready to get in the busy season shortly, and I'm running some demos for USP at various shoppes around my region as well, so time is a precious commodity at the moment.

I thank everyone who's followed along on this journey, appreciate all the feedback & motivation I've received, and hopefully I've been educational for you as well.

Posting a couple pics taken today here on my way out the door - be a good comparison to the things that are to come!

Peace out!

Update: Well, I won't be runing an off-season log anytime soon.. tore my calf playing tennis again 2 days ago.. right back where I started with that thing now. I've shut down tennis for the year, and now have to work around this injury once more. No fun starting a log when you're limited in what you can do..

The off-season was starting off swell too; game plan was upping the carbs (300-450g daily, varied) while dropping protein intake, cycling off BCAA intake for awhile. Am still out to blow up here this winter, but I'm very bummed that I won't be able to resume lunges for awhile. The water I was holding in my last pics was pretty much drained, and I had a hella pump in my delts & traps after yesterday's session. Just some visual proof to this aspect..

lats are looking legit brother man. Sorry about the calf injury man, but you sure you're not just using this as an excuse to why your son beat ya? lol!

Actually, I was playing my wife & her friend 1-on-2, and I gave them the alleys on top of that. They were strategically painting those alleys to make me run back & forth, and I was full-speed all over the court. I don't know how to do anything at less than all-out effort..

My son has a good little game of his own! Great instincts and anticipation. He's a ways away from beating his old man tho. :)

Off-season in full force. Time restraints are not allowing to start up a detailed thread, but wanted to update on the progress..

Prime has been really in play last week to week & a half, having those insane, never-get-tired workouts again. Loving it! Just hammered my chest this morning, tough time flexing for this shot..

EDIT: Oh btw, guess I should mention the calf is healing up very quickly, almost 100% now. Don't know if I just overestimated the original severity based on the feeling of my last calf tear, or if the mad dosing of SuperCissus I'm throwing at it has sped recovery. My guess is combination of both.. also have thrown in some Nexin for the knee soreness, which has Decursinol & Hyaluronic Acid in it, nice 1-2 punch w/ the Cissus.

That's awesome about the calf healing bro. Like your signature says, it's not how hard you can hit, it's how hard you can GET HIT and be able to keep movin' forward.

Update

Well I'm not able to get my off-season log up & running to this point, so I'll continue to update thru here. Training's going well, came off a recent quick-bulk where I consumed 75k calories over a 7-day period (goal was at least 10k cal a day), shaving it back down now with a reduced diet & fasted-training. Never done this kind of bulk before, half the calories were liquid, blew up pretty good. It was fun to eat that much.. weight went to 207, back down to 203 this morning. Hit chest hard this morning, showing current from..
