Gators looked impressive on all sides of the ball. The defense looks MUCH improved. Special teams continues to be dominant......brandon james is just unreal.

Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps......talk about speed!

Bring on UM....It's time to give the hurricanes a clear football demonstation of the UF "Perfect Storm". :D

I listened to ESPN hype Clemson's Spiller and Davis for weeks. Too bad they completely overlooked both offensive lines. Oh... and thank goodness Corso picked against the Tide.

No offense Plates, as I normally have nothing against the Buckeyes or their fans, but let me address your cockiness for a moment.:nono: First, OSU should be banned from playing for the National Championship this year. It wouldn't matter what SEC team they faced, they would still get destroyed. The Big 10 is not what it used to be... it's a weak conference that's on par with the Big East and the ACC at best. OSU wasn't even one of the THREE best teams at the end of last season (that distinction would belong to LSU, Georgia, and USC), but because of a broken BCS system, they were sent out as lambs to the slaughter again.

I just hope you guys go where you belong this year... to the Rose Bowl. You'd have a shot at winning that one, especially against a second-rate PAC-10 opponent. Everyone's happy... Buckeye fans and the rest of the nation who cringes at the thought of having to watch an SEC powerhouse manhandle a team that would probably have an 8-4 record if they played in a dominate conference.

And don't even try to convince me that the Big 10 has any real competition. Who... Michigan? Illinois? Penn State? Maybe OSU would be better served to schedule some SEC teams during the regular season. That way, instead of beating up on the likes of Youngstown State, Ohio, and Troy... they can actually measure themselves against real football schools.

I know that's harsh, and things always change. I'm sure the Big 10 will get back to its former condition in a few years, but for right now... just hope for Pasadena... not Miami. Everyone wins.:thumbsup:

Personally i get sick of the "OSU should be banned from the NC" i think thats pretty outright stupid. I think they SHOULDN'T have been there last year in the first place therefore got stomped. Last year in my opinion they were not supposed to do as well as they did and this is a year they will be a better more experienced team.

With all that said i think the big 10(they can't even count there is 11 teams in there :confused: ) is not that strong and unless OSU beats USC and manages only 1 defeat i don't think they'd deserve a NC bid.

O and another note i was SOOOOOOOO happy to see tech lose to ECU :D

And o yea GO CAL!!!

Okay, I thought my "banning" comment was an obvious exaggeration... but your retort proves otherwise. Here's what I think is "pretty outright stupid" and I'm sick of hearing: your reply that they've "gained experience" and it's not their fault because they over-performed last year. WHAT??? Their over-performance just proves my point about how weak their schedule is. OSU can gain all the experience in the world, but it won't make them FASTER. Yes, Pryor is a quick kid, and I'm sure they'll appear swift against their schedule, but when they play an SEC opponent, not so much.

Hey, maybe I'm wrong. We'll see. SC will be a huge test for them. If they come into Los Angeles and run circles around the Trojans, then I'll reconsider my position.

And yeah, the VT - ECU game was classic. ECU won by playing their own version of "Beamer-ball." I was at the Cal game and it was a fun one to watch!

Sorry if you misunderstood me i agree with you somewhat but in general i feel people really do feel they need to be banned from the NC. I also think big ten has very little competition. While the SEC really is above everyone else i think some people put them too far ahead of everyone else...but until they are dethroned(don't see this happening soon...) they can smack talk all they want :)

I bet the cal game was nice...i really like our new unis and i prefer riley to start over longshore...


o yea and i really don't think OSU will run circles around SC but i hope the game is close just so its good(a lot of preseason hype) but i have a feeling its not gonna be so close....
 
The BCS is what it is....... OSU should not have been there last year.... they were not even supposed to get that far so getting to the national championship was a success story....... as for you hating on the big ten that is fine with me, they are down and will return to greatness.... it is cyclical and all divisions have this "yo yo" cycles..... as for OSU making it to the NC 3 years in a row.... if they beat USC at USC they deserve to be there just like any other team especially if they go undefeated....... as for being cocky, well deal with it because you are quite cocky yourself posting your rant as you do....... I have no problem with it myself but do not preach about being cockey when you yourself are posting in the same reguard......... Peace!:duel:

Nah man, I didn't mean to come off like a preachy jerk. I just reread my post and realized the sarcasm I intended came off that way. I think it has to do with all the OSU and Michigan fans in my life. Wait, who am I kidding? I just love talking smack about college ball!

As for being cocky, I really can't be... I'm an Alabama fan! We haven't been to the big dance since the end of the '92 season and haven't beaten Auburn in the last six tries.

I am really cool with people loving their teams........cocky does not bother me....... I love College ball..... even trauma with Florida..... it is all good to me.....they beat OSU and I applaude them for it...... The Buckeyes have been a embarrassment the last couple years and if anybody knows how painfully clear this is I do........ but alas I am what I am a Buckeyes fan (not a fair weather one at that)..... so I will take the abuse, I have thick skin.....maybe one day they will return to greatness...... :thumbsup:

You have to stand by your team. I'm cocky on occassion, i admit that. :D

I still remember the first time i ever went to a gator game.......an experience that is unforgetable. The smack talk during the year is what it's all about. I honestly do it all in good fun.....unless you're a yankee fan, then it's pure distaste!!! Lol! :trout:

Sorry, the big 10..i mean 11..is competitive. osu, psu, illinois, wisconsin..not this year but usually michigan. yeah they have their cupcake games but so does every other division. the big 10 imo is "smashmouth" football that generates toughness in the nfl. lawrence maroney..minnesotta..great runner with patriots...marion barber..u of minn. a workhorse for the cowboys. larry johnson...penn st. made a huge impact with the kc cheifs. what about those "fancy" pac10 schools...usc..matt leinhart..cardinals..nuff said. :duel:

Edit: I reread and think you are trying to get at they have better pro players...IMHO that doesn't always equate to better teams...but thats fine i think people are gonna call me a big 10/11 hater but thats fine i like the conference i just think they shouldn't act like they are an elite conference...IMO they are the 4th best

and no1 take what i say personal i am very opinionated with football and if you wanna argue i'd love to but jsut know i am not always right even if i think i am :p

I seriously hope tennessee loses this game here. While i should be rooting for the SEC, i can't for UT.

Man, I'm with you there. I can't bring myself to root for Tennessee or Auburn. I have complete disdain for both of those teams. And 'Rocky Top' is the most annoying fight song of all time... well, except for 'Notre Dame Victory March!'
 
Quite the success story for UCLA.... unraked out of the gate knocks of #10 Tenn.....even with a new coach.....impressive!:thumbsup:
 
I am glad they won...they can do what they want in out of season play just not gonna get any love when they play cal :)
 
All I have to say is watch out for the Tide baby!!! Clemson in my mind is overrated but damn that was a nice win and a convincing one at that!!!

Mark Ingram (#22) and Julio Jones make me very optimistic about Bama's offensive future. I just hope JPW stays consistent this year. He did a great job of taking what Clemson's defense gave him and not getting overambitious. We probably won't know what kind of team they really are until the Georgia game in Athens. Roll Tide!

Hell yeah brother :head: ! ! ! I was satisfied with Kevin Rielly, the pick at the goal line pissed me the **** off, although I can get easily aggravated LOL. I think he's an improvement over Longshore. Longshore can play like an All-American for 3 quarters but would find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the 4th quarter. I think Tedford finally had enough of the inconsistency with Longshore.

I liked Jahvid Best. I thought he ran better than Forsett, he kind of reminds me of JJ Arrington (the back before Marshawn Lynch). Our running game will be fine and that's a big relief. I think we need to use Best a lot more in the passing game because the man can take a screen to the house against anyone, especially a screen to the wide side of the field.

Our secondary needs to step it up though. I realize they made big plays when it mattered but if they play like that against USC or Arizona St than we'll get smoked like a 1 gram joint.

Great analysis. My buddy and I were saying the same things at the game. Longshore = fail. Two backs over 100 yards was a good sign though, and Best is a stud. Going to the Colorado State game later in the month. Go Bears!
 
Longshore=failure under pressure

I hope for good things this year and personally would not like to see longshore under center again...

well, first off i dont think the big 10 is an elite conference; in fact they are overshadowed by late by the usc's the lsu's the texas' to name a few. big 10 is old school "smashmouth" football that teaches teamwork,disciplin and toughness. with that said how well would a standout from usc..ex: matt leinhat and reggie bush from the 2005 team stack up against a potent big 10 defence at least 8-10 times a season....probably not as good as there pac10 defence they are accustom to.:duel:

I live for all of CFB!! I did talk to one of my good UF fans today that i hadnt spoken to in forever lol gator fans are everywhere and im in VA :confused:

I am going out on a limb though with this game. Another prediction The U's defense shuts Tebow down.

This will begin a flurry of upsets for another wild and crazy season.

Robert Marve the freshman QB will be getting the start for the U and he is going to pick the UF defense apart!

BTW he broke some of Tebow's high school records.

This win will resurrect the U!

You know as well as i do that the highscool and college level are night and day. :p

Tebow has proven to be the best player in college football thusfar, until proven otherwise, he still is haha! :)

Bring on the U to gainesville. It's going to be a LONG trip home with the whoopin' UF is about to lay on them. :thumbsup::lol:

Yes you are correct, I have noting really to back anything for Miami....Honestly I see Tebow doing whatever the hell wants to do as usual. I hope the Canes put up a fight though.

This is why nursing is so great.......self scheduling! I literally map out what i want to work and get it. So, i NEVER work on game days i want to see, woot, woot!! :D
 
2 weeks away from the big game OSU and USC........ the battle in the Cali........ I might have scored some tickets!!!!!! Airfarefrom Ohio thou will suuuuck! Go Bucks!:thumbsup:

It's too bad Longshore plays like a schizo. Cal was a top 5 team when he was playing like an All-American. I was impressed about their win over Oregon at Autzen last year when they had Dixon at QB. Not even USC could handle the Ducks at Autzen last year. On the other hand, he played down to his competition in other games and that killed his chances.

Our play-action passing game will take off once teams start crowding the line against our two headed monster running game, too bad we don't have Jackson at receiver this year.

I don't know if we'll get past USC but I think we can beat any other team in the PAC 10.
