okay 1stly i have my container stored on top of my refrigerator .. so i was out of town for the weekend .. and today i come back and i open up my POSEIDON .. and it had some black particles in it .. im not sure what caused it ..or is it normal .. im a newbie to this product, so was just wondering if it happens alot.

thanks for the help.

May have gotten a little warm/moisture in the container. I don't believe it affects efficacy, but I'll let a Nimbus rep answer that one.

I haven't ever had any black particles in mine, but if its not like all turning black i am sure your fine....just shake it up and you should be good to go. If you have any problems with it just let me know and i will try and help the situation :)

I had a similar occurance happen to mine, it was on top of my computer for a period of time, still seems to work. It doesn't fizz as much but I do still get a sick niacin flush.

I am sure even with the small black particles it will still work. I have had that in other supps (ie: white particles in choc. protein) still responded the same way

Any idea what the small black particles might be; oxidized ingredient or possibly mold?

That happened to mine too, I have no idea what could have caused it. First it clumped, then I removed it and put it in an air tight ziploc bag, then it turned dark brown/almost black, so I tossed it.

Oxidation is the cause for the color change. When the water soluable vitamins come in contact with moisture they have a tendency to undergo variable chemical reactions that can cause particle discoloration, depending on the amount of moisture available for oxidation.

oh im glad im not the only one .. i dont toss it though .. i just mix it in something sweet or in my preworkout drink(half scoop) .. taste isnt affected .. hopefully the effectiveness is still there

They're very reputable, man. Nutra has taken care of the problems that I've run in to. Nimbus is a great company; one of the more trust-worthy ones out.

No cause for concerns my friend, a large portion of the 450gram containers lacked the moisture packs that are now in place with the newer 900gr containers. Basically, the addition of the packets have made it possible to ship the product year round(even in the humid summer heat of Georgia) without worry of clumping.

We pride ourselves on our reputation and product realiability. The folks at Nimbus try very, very hard to put out products that will work and work well. Once the moisture exposure became a problem, due diligence was paid in solving the problem immediately. We value the continued support that you and other customers have shown us over the past couple of years.:)

thank you for the kind words. I know if there are any issues they will always be resolved.

I've noticed that in these humid summer months that Poseidon, Poseidon-BA, and Blast all have clumped into a semi solid mass. Easily broken apart by any utensil and after moving them to mason jars it is no longer a problem. The plastic jars just don't seal well enough or so it would seem as other products also exhibit oxidation and clumping. Ironically, Swell has yet to clump and I can leave the top off that for days and I'm sure it will still be a fine powder. Undoubtedly, this must be due to the leucine content.

On a tangent; is Poseidon-BA flavored? It seems to have a reddish-pink hue somewhat in close semblance to the label but there's little to no detectable flavoring. What if any reason is there for the coloring?

Nope, the BA was not flavored. It was ment to mix with anything sans the taste. The red hue indicates the presence of B12. Thats the color indication that it exibits when mixed in aqua.

i have had the same problem... it seems like moisture seeps in, yet i know i close my containers...100% of the time... i baby my supps... call nimbus or call nutra?

EDIT: or just suck it up? lol

None taken my friend. Just wanting to reassure our customers, that's all.

Defenitely drop back in and let us know how Swell works for you.

I just opened my container that I purchased a few months ago, and well it has the black brown clumping.

Should i transfer it to another container? Or what?

in instances like that I normally just scoop out whatever I can. I also use the scooper sort of like "combing the desert" to make sure that its all good

It's sad to say, but I had to stop buying Poseidon all, peroid.
Nutra was kind enough to exchange 2, but every one I get ends up the same brownish, clumpy mess.
I'm on my last week of the remaining supply, after that, no more.
The brownish, clumpy kind does not taste good, nor does it give me any sort of flush.
Nutra did try to help; however, the returned product cost me money, and I always get what seems to be, the same in return.

im glad i wasnt the only one with this .. ive moved onto the swell :)

so far no brownish stuff :)
Glad to hear your having success with Swell GQ. The problem seems to stem from the 450gr containers. I believe these lacked the moisture packets for condensation prevention. I've order several tubs of the 900gr and have not had a problem. I'll check with the big man to get to the bottom of this....
