Do you use Glutamine?

But, will using it yield a benefit?

i think the consensus is that same believe yes and some believe no, it's a never ending debate.

if one was thinking about whether or not to use glutamine and did some searching on this board to do some "research
" for example i'd say that they would not really know which way to go as all threads on this subject end up becoming a debate with both sides both having strong cases.

it's cheap so if one wanted to see if glutamine was ok then it's really not a lot of money to spend to find out for themselves.

all glutamine threads always end up being the same - for vs against

True. I do find (and I think everyone who uses it finds) taurine to be extremely beneficial.
 
I read on the latest issue of MD a study that show that taking glutamine before workouts decrease the buildup of toxins on muscle that occur when the muscle use fat to have energy, glutamine will serve as a energy source instead of fat and less toxins will be formed promoting a faster recovery.

Well lets put it this way,

Will you get the same gains with or without it? Yes. No one can argue that.

Everyone seems to be bent on whether or not glutamine is directly responsible for gains and whether or not taking it will give you that extra day in the gym and really, no, I don't think it does those things. But I am sure that supplemented with nutrition and proper training and other essential AA's, it works wonders on your immune system and maybe even recovery giving you fewer missed days from sickness or lethargy.

I take it mainly because if you look at articles and studies done on it outside the body building world, the benefits are numerous. I take it because I want my body to be healthy, especially when I put it through hell 4 - 5 days a week. Same reason we all take multi vitamins and omega 3's. They don't cause gains, they help with your body's health.
 
My body feels more recovered when I take it extra glutamine. also want growth hormone release, take two or more grams of glutamine. I feel a bit sleepier when I take it. It can be nice for post workout relaxation. Also studies show taking in between meals is beneficial. I think it is good for cortisol if training intense.(also so is lean xtreme and PS- entirely different subjects)

Glutamine peptides are suposed to be better than L-glutamine, there is plenty of research on L-glut though. The peptide form supposed to be more active when binding. I hear it taste horrible. I'm going to try this in the future sometime.
