anabolic diet question

How much carbs should I be taking in per lb of bodyweight for carb ups? And how many cals should I go above maintainence without sacrificing my fatloss efforts? Also, what kind of foods are you guys using for the carb ups? Lots of grains, potatoes, rice or what?

I have been consuming 2200-2500 cals on my low carb days(i do non-training days at 2200, and workout days at 2500 in order to get some cal manipulation)

On Carb ups i consume:
Day 1-6800cals(60C/30P/10F) C=16xLBM
Day 2-3880cals(60C/30P/10F)

Day 1 i eat things like Waxy Maize, Gatoraide, gummy bears, cornflakes, etc.

Day 2 is mostly made up of rice, pasta, and potatoes. Maybey a few whole wheat waffles.

This is a carb up BOTCH helped me with, and so far has been working flawlessly.

I would leave all the slin manipulation out of the carb up and use it during your low carb days instead. That is...if maximum glycogen supercomp. is your goal.

BwhahahahAHAHAHA that is the funniest sig ever cryingemo!!! "anyone tried bulk foreskin" hahahahAHAHA classic!!!

In my opinion, it's not beneficial during the carb up. In order to reap the benefit of glycogen supercompensation you should leave it out. Instead, use it early in the week to help lower blood sugar and deplete your glycogen stores.

So I think I will doing a weekly refeed instead of biweekly for weightloss purposes. I am at about 12% bf and 170 lbs. So would 500 g of carbs over 12 hours on Saturday would be appropriate in my case?

I am really eager to finish cutting so I can go back to adding LBM, but I set a goal to get to around 6-7%. I am hoping to be there in a month and a half.

Not by my recommendation. 500g of carbs is WAY too little to do anything appreciable to replenish glycogen stores. I would recommend that you keep your macros at 60/30/10 carbs/pro/fat and load for 36-48 hours. This is an anabolic diet thread and that is not a direct recommendation from Di Pasquale so take it FWIW. I have been using the anabolic diet scheme for about 6 months...long enough to know that the carb up is too lax IMHO. If you want the aesthetics that can be, follow the macro breakdown I posted above and you'll get your results.

I am an endo, and was scared of my carb ups for the first few months, limiting them to basically 1-2 cheat style meals on saturday afternoon/evening, then going right back to low carb.. Since i have been doing what you said, the fat has been flying off, faster then before, and i look MUCH better durring the first few days of the week.

When i first saw it, i was scared as hell of giving it a go..lol But i will say i do enjoy eating my sweedish fish, and mike and ikes on friday..:woohoo:

Dr.Di actually says you CAN go as short as 12 hours on the carb up in the Metabolic Diet but I doubt thats optimal.

Yes he does. And the metabolic diet is also geared more toward the couch potatoe/office body/sedentary person than the bodybuilder.

Yeah buddy! The 36-48 hour carb up is where it's at. If your macros are 60/30/10 and you gorge yourself then you're golden. I'm going to start carbing up for a full 48 hours or maybe even a little bit longer than that for the rest of my cut.

He also says that you can go as long as 48 hours. And where I think people screw this up and then get the idea that they need to stick with only 12 hours is from incorrectly cycling their macros.
