How best to utilize Poseidon?

Okay so I have ordered a large tub of Poseidon from NP, hopefully I should receive it soon.

From those that have used it here how best can I maximize its utility? Anything I should watch out for? Anything I should/should not eat etc?

Any info greatly appreciated.
 
I like to take some right when i get up, some pre workout, some post workout, and then at least one more sometime before bed. You will probably get a niacin flush the first couple times you use it especially on an empty stomach. Also, like t-bone noted it can cause bowel movements if you are sensitive to magnesium. I would start with several half doses throughout the day to see if the mag effects you and slowly build up to a normal dose.

umm while there is a taste it is not really strong. It is easily hidden with mixing it in other products so mixing it with your pre intra and post workout shakes should help to hide w/e taste it really has. The taste goes away if you use alot of water to dilute it as well

It tastes awful, but if you let it sit for a while it is tolerable.
 
I would suggest the following:

Day 1 - 1 scoop (Split into 2 half scoops if need be)
Day 2 - 1-2 scoops (1 morning and 1evening to see if sensitivity)
Day 3 - 2 scoops (1 morning and 1 preworkout)
Day 4 - 2-3 scoops throughout day
Day 5 - 2-4 scoops throughout day

If you do have a sensitivity, then just go slow. You should build up a tolerance in a few days. If you do not notice any sensitivity, then you can proceed to 3-6 scoops within the first week.

Thats quite alright with me.

Typically I would take it specially with my pre-workout mix, intra-workout and post-workout. I typically make the mixes the night before and let it cool in the fridge. Keeps it real cool and takes away the froth. I will add Poseidon in there and that should take care of carbonation.
 
What the... since when was there a taste?! I never noticed anything, but the last bottle I ordered came in about two months ago... I used to shotgun a scoop into my mouth and chug it down with 8-12oz water, literally.. never tasted a thing. Even now, when I actually act civilized with it, I put in a single scoop of Xtend along with ~8oz water and I have never tasted anything remote to... "taste mentioning"..

Do I have bad tastebuds, or are you ALL CRAZY!?!? ITS DEFINITLY YALL CRAZY-HEADS

LOL, yeah it's very subtle. IMO, you have to be paying attention to it to really notice it. The less diluted you mix it the stronger the mineral taste you experience as well.

I like one scoop upon waking, one half an hour before bed ( works wonders for me ). Other than that I dose as needed - if I feel I need a little pick me up or if I don't think my hydration is where it should be I would take another scoop. I didn't really utilise it specifically for training purposes, more for improving my lifestyle ( which includes training I guess ) and recovery from working shifts and sleep deprivation etc.

I didn't notice any GI distress but I never dosed more than 4 scoops a day. 4 scoops a day cleaned up my skin heaps in four days and then I dropped it back to 2 or 3 scoops after that.

I put a scoop in just a tiny amount of water or put a scoop in my mouth and swallow it with water. The taste is very metallic/acidic and feels like reswallowing vomit. I've gagged a few times halfway through swallowing because in my throat it has the sensation of vomit (probably the carbonation and acidity).

I personally have always just added a scoop or two to whatever beverage or drink I was consuming. There is no appreciable change in taste or texture of said drink at least IMO. I haven't tried your method though but I may due so out of sheer curiosity. I would suggest using at least 8oz of water and hopefully the product will be more tolerable.

I like doing it my way. It makes me feel tough.
 
I personally would take it 3-6 times a day, but not near bedtime. Way to much B12 content for me personally. Anyone else have thought's on this>
 
I can't take it pre-WO - it makes me crap WAAAAAAAAAAY too many times.

As in - 3 or 4 times while at the gym (for an hour and a half).

That's Poseidon's downfall for me. Which sucks - I have Blast and Poseidon BA but can't really use them as they were intended.

lol that sux!! that would suck soooooo bad having to run back and forth at the gym to crap...imagine a day you did squats or deadlifts :toofunny:

It's stooopid. I go to the bathroom when I first get to the gym, then after warming up, then maybe after the 2nd exercise (if I'm lucky), then at least another time (sometimes after every exercise - 5 times).

It's all that damn carbonate you guys put in it.
No more Poseidon pre-WO.

This is true. Some individuals seem to be hypersensative to the magniesium content in Poseidon. If anything, you could try taking it along side a calcium supplememt or decreasing the dosage to allow yourself to adjust.
 
It takes some individuals time to get used to the mag. You should be able to start with smaller doses and work your way up.

Started using Poseidon this week and I like what I see thus far...except one thingy. I mixed some Poseidon with Xtend BCAA and drank it as my midnight drink(around 2 am). Immediately afterwards I felt a strange burning sensation that lasted for 10 minutes or so. I dont get it any other time except in the evening.

I will try it again tonight to see if it was a one-off thing but I do beleive it is the B12 boost that sends that kind of sensation.

Nope, that would be the niacin my friend. What you experienced was a good old niacin flush, which is a perfectly normal response. If it happens again and you don't like the feeling just cut your night dosage back to half a serving, or take it with a light meal. That should negate the slight burn you feel.:thumbsup:

yea its definitely the niacin flush your feeling. This is probably due to the fact that your stomach is pretty empty when you take it in the middle of the night and are more susceptible to a niacin flush on an empty stomach

So this Niacin flush thing, is this a concern at all? Should I stop taking it midnight or simply reduce the dose and see how it works?

there is no problem with the niacin flush at all, that is unless it is causing you trouble with falling asleep. If it bothers you then you can lower the dose but if you don't mind the flush then there is no problem at all.

No problems sleeping at all. In fact for some reason it made me sleep rather well. COnsidering my diet(and supplements) have not changed at all in past week, except addition of Poseidon, I would say maybe Poseidon is making me sleep well.

I liked the flush. I used to take two scoops in the morning sometimes before I'd shave and wait for it.... wait for it.... then shave. I didn't get as much irritation from the razor. I found this out by accident.

Just man up and shave with a 2-blade razor with nothing but water, like I do.
