Site redesign is much better than what you had going before. If you are looking into making those galleries active, I'd check out LightBox. It's built on the Mootools javascript framework. Also, you thinking of adding any sort of functionality in terms of a forum, store, etc, to the site? Just curious as I am a web developer and all I do all day long is PHP, AJAX and Database stuff.
 
Also, and I'm just throwing this out there, I'd use your domain's email address rather than an AOL account. Having someone email and AOL account is kind of cheezy. Maybe it's just my nerd mode coming out.
