What to add to Eggs???

So I eat 1cup of Rolled Oats and 8 Eggwhite/2 Yolks every morning. I prepare both in the Microwave, because I have a pretty hectic and early morning.

I usually put some Salt Free Ketchup onto the eggs, but I don't really want to do this anymore. Any ideas of what can be added easily to add some flavor?

The only think i have some up with so far is salsa...

Cheese/cottage cheese....for some reason I love cottage cheese on my eggs and regular cheese for that matter. The hot sauce packets from del taco are also very good to add to them- and convenient. Cheese, hot sauce/salsa is all i need for my eggs.

This recipe takes a little time to make, but it is well worth it and it makes enough to last 6 to 8 days - just be sure to keep it refigerated.

Spinach & Egg Bake

Ingredients:

6 whole eggs and 6 egg whites
2 bags spinach or 4 bundles (or substituted 2 cups broccoli florettes, or combine broccoli & cauliflower and carrots)
3 tomatoes, chopped (or use canned, diced tomatoes)
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 lg onion, chopped
½ cup goat feta cheese, crumbled (or shredded cheddar depending on veggies)
1 tblsp extra virgin olive oil (I use Macadamia nut oil)
2 cups club soda
sea salt & coarse black pepper to taste
1 tsp hot chilies or ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
2 cups shrimp, prawns, white fish, salmon, scallops, chicken or turkey

Grease 8X14 (lasagne) baking dish. In a skillet, add oil and lightly sauté onion, mushrooms, peppers and garlic. Wash spinach (if by the bunch), add to steamer, bring to boil and turn heat off, not lifting the lid. Let sit approximately 10 minutes. (If using broccoli, etc, don’t steam, add raw). In large bowl, break eggs and adding whites, whip with fork. Add club soda, salt and pepper chillies, or nutmeg. Stir and add to greased baking dish. Add spinach (or broc, cauli, carrots), tomatoes, cheese and protein. Top w/ parmesan cheese and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

6-8 days? 2 days max... lol

My girl friend is a chef by hobby, and I now eat my eggs with a pinch of: thyme, poulty seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, and a white cheese.

I am going to try the eggs in the microwave...do you put them in a bowl, and is there a length of time you cook per egg used. How long do you cook the eggs for? Thanks...my morning are short and this will save lots of time.

It depends on how strong your microwave is. I know PI's microwave is a really low output.

I put 6 whites (and sometimes a yolk or two) in a kool-whip bowl, and put it on low power for about 4-5 minutes. Lower power allows it to cook throroughly without blowing up.

white cheese, eh? Do you want to know what that white cheese really is?

We change it up. Parmesean, swiss, muenster, feta, havarti, ricotta, hell even goat cheese:lol: Every now and again I go slumming and have cheddar. But under no circumstances is one to ever and I mean EVER use anything Velveta. That **** reminds me of vinyl.

Cook some peppers, mushrooms, and/or onions into it

If you're looking for some extra protein, some diced ham makes for a stellar omlette.

Tabasco sauce makes ANYTHING taste good.

x2.

Just about every day I have a 3 egg omlet with sauted 'shrooms, chives, spinach and peppers (green, orange, yellow and red).

It takes less then 10 minutes to make, you saute the mushrooms in olive oil while you beat the eggs and cut up the other stuff. Then you take the mushrooms out of the pan and drain the excess oil, pour the egg in, wait for it to harden, throw the veggies on top, flip and you're done.

I really can't imagine eating microwaved eggs and oats. I'd rather take the extra 3 minutes to cook them stove top.

Sweet recipe Bear, I may have to give that a go. How much do the ingredients cost roughly?

Seriously one of the best dishes I have used is cottage cheese and eggs. It is an old scottish recipe that my grandma used to make and I dont think she realized it was actually pretty good for you.

6 Eggs (whole or not), 10 eggwhite if no yolk.
1/2 cup of cottage cheese

Beat them and cook them like a scramble. The only thing i do is after im done, is that i strain them in a cullender (sp?) for like 15 sec (gets rid of the water from the cottage cheese).

It makes the eggs really fluffy and moist and the protein content is out of this world. Serve with two pieces of Double-Fiber bread and you are in business.

HAMBURG!

I noticed that no one has offered this simple solution as of yet, which is a recent sudo-omlette I've been really, REALLY enjoying lately.

It sounds very simple, and it is, but man does it taste great. I use half a hamburger, maybe 3 or 4oz of 93% lean beef. Do purchase the expensive lean meats for this mix, as you don't use much per meal.. best to get the top grade!

I'd pan fry the burger, breaking it into little tiny bits of meat while it cooks. Looks like taco meat when it's done. Then you can use the same pan for the eggs with a little Pam added (hamburger grease is pretty good for non-stick, and adds even more flavor to the eggs).

I've been buying these egg whites called "Better-n-Eggs", which appears to just be egg whites with yellow coloring. Nutrition wise the same as egg whites. The color however makes it look like cheese! lol

I suppose you could spice it up with some onions.

Pineapple salsa and ham steaks... I know your figure and all.. but **** ham eggs and pineapple is great

My latest recipies on my CKD for eggs have been good... really good actually.

Egg whites and Egg whites,
Egg whites and Bacon
Egg whites and salt/pepper
Egg whites and splash of hot sauce
Egg whites and Mozzerella Omlette
Egg whites and sausage
Egg whites and Parmesean cheese
Egg whites and Salsa (2 grams carbs)
Egg whites and green/red peppers

when I get really hungry... I mix in like everything up above LOL

has anyone fried their eggs with tuna? Its good. with some rice yeahh buddy.

HAHA I just did this and thought I was crazy for it.. just dumped the tuna in and scrambled it with the eggs.

My favorite is you take some oats mix it with a scoop of protein powder and a couple eggs stir it all up and cook it like a pancake it is really good and fast. I cant remember the measurements but you dont really need that anyway your just making a thick batter.

YESSSS! im not alone haha. What kind of protien powder did you try in that pancake thing? I might try that. i dont know about strawberry or chocolate eggs tho....

I bought Iron Tek but its not that great. I think ON makes a banana cream too I bet there's is better

I always thought eggs in the microwave was a horrible way to cook eggs. Throw the eggs in a glass, add splenda, maybe some cinnamon for extra flavor and down that sh!t. Much quicker and even though the gag factor is high it beats eating nuked eggs anyday.

i cant help but think that raw egg whites have the consistancy of semen lol.....ewwwwwww! honestly ive never eaten an egg raw.

What I do everyday is drink my egg whites...At walmart over by the yogurt u can buy 100% liquid egg whites which are salminila tested and dont have to be cooked. When u cook your eggs the bioavailibilty of the source of protein is lowered so drinking your egg whites is the way to go...and i know what u mean i wake up in hurry every morning so i pour a glass of egg whites and down them and then eat an apple, drink a glass of milk, and eat some peanut butter and im gone.
As buying the egg whites like i do is economically smart...they run right at $1.50 each which is a pint of egg whites and is equally to 50g of protein. Its a quick smart and easy way to go.

I do something similiar with Costco Egg Starts.

Get some 96% lean ground beef, toss in some taco seasoning, diced onions, green peppers, red peppers, etc, let brown then pour in the egg starts. My god is this good, and definitely a high protein meal, low fat, and good source for veggies.

Bulk X-factor on top of scrambled eggs, some tomato sauce on one side of the plate, some tabasco on the other. Choose your adventure.

If you feel like being artsy fartsy about it, or you need to impress someone with your leet cooking skillz, take slices of turkey ham and tuck them into a cupcake baking pan to make little ham cups. Lay some spinach and chopped tomatoes down in the cups, and some crumbled up pieces of whole grain bread. Break the egg on top of that, and sprinkle some grated nonfat cheese over the egg. Bake in the oven at 325F until the eggs are just set. Looks freaking amazing, and tastes pretty damn good too. Really doesn't take very long to set up or to cook either.

If you need to make an egg based meal for a lot of people, or a lot of portions to save cooking time, do the insta-quiche. Toss down crumbled whole grain bread in a pan, add various chopped up vegetables and meats until the pan is about a third full, then pour in eggs or Egg Beaters or egg whites until the pan is about half full. Cheese topping is optional. Bake in a slow oven (325) until done through. Cut in squares and eat. The good thing about this recipe is that one pan can be refrigerated for many days worth of breakfasts.
