Shogun's physique varied a lot in Pride too. I remember being fairly soft in some of those fights and solid in others. Pride having better fighters seems pretty questionable given recent events, but I agree with your other arguments for the old Pride over the UFC.

I agree also. I loved the pre-event presentations and the announcements. The best ever.

Dana White is blaming Internet MMA forums for spreading untruths about salaries that has fighters riled up.

He may or may not be dicking Couture, sure seems to be on most of his stable.

Fedor went to M-1 for the $, would not suprise me if M-1 pitched big money at Couture, they need a headline fight to get their show started, and there are some good uncommited HW's out there - Barnett, Hunt, Couture, Fujita, Aleks can join his brother, Arlovski may bail on the UFC, Werdum seems to be out with the Zuffas, Sylvia is not happy, etc, etc; with some wrangling and maybe some new unknown up and coming blood, a good HW stable could be formed. Possibly add Le Banner, Sefo and Bonjasky from K-1, all say they want to come to MMA soon.

M-1 must think so, Fedor is the flagship to build a division around.

I gotta give props to Norris, he's good at jerking y'alls chain.

Fedor is the biggest badass on the planet, Couture not so much. Couture has 2 nice wins in a row, big whoop. Before that he was busy getting KO'd by Chuck who may not even be a top 10 LHW at this point. Couture is incredible for his age, but he is not even close to being on Fedor's level.

Cnorris a talented chain jerker huh? Kimbo would destroy ANYONE in MMA, wheres my props, Wilford?:bruce1: :run: :drunk:
 
I'll one up Alexander. I predict that in Shogun's next fight he will come out with a banana hammock labeled "Pride Fvcking Rules" with CNorris' lipstick and signature on it.

Fedor is Legend, but we don't really know how well he will fight next, he fought Hunt then Lindland after a injury, he has many months of ring rust and who knows what on his distractions?

Fedor was god, is he still?

Randy Couture is a match with anyone. No One trains and schemes a fight more cunning, he's the cutting edge.

Alex, my brother, you ain't got drop in start **** chops like Cnorris does, Kimbo as cred, not, I, old and worn as I am, would Slice and wear his Ghetto ass out. I know I could beat him, probably cheating, Liddell Eye Poke and a punch into his throat.
 
Fedor, ring rust, hogwash! A fresh Fedor, healed hand and all = Couture looking like he's a senior citizen. If that fight ever happens, I would love to bet some big money on it against you, if you got the gonads that is.

I guess I mistook Cnorris' **** starting skills for ignorance, silly me. Is Auggie the next Ben Franklin?

I would not say simply because Randy had two straight losses to Liddell [who has now fallen out favour] that he would not prove a match for Fedor. That's MMAth, Alex.

As you know styles make fights and I think a Couture clinch-and-dirty-box scheme may match well with Fedor. As well, I think Randy's strong enough on the ground to survive a possible Fedor GnP beating.

I still feel Fedor would win, but it would be close.

I got Nads enough to back my man Randy, lose he might, but he will come well prepared, he trains with max intensity into the best science and a well crafted gameplan.

No one is unbeatable, Fedor could be got, I'll bet he will be if he stays around a few more fights.

That's not really MMAth. MMAth would be Liddell beat Couture, Couture beat GG, GG beat CC, so Liddell can beat CC. I give Couture maybe a 25% chance in the fight, but I''m just saying he's lost to Chuckyx2, Barnett, Rico, etc, and Fedor does not lose. If Fedor's hand is 100% I don't think Couture would survive a GnPing.

True, I think it's undeniable Randy is a better, more well-rounded fighter now than ever. It's possible Tim Sylvia truly is that bad, and GG was relatively unknown before CC, but I think he would survive.

And I coddle Fedor's nutsack close as anybody.

Of course Fedor could lose, but I don't see anyone that currently has tools enough to have a good chance of beating him.

I'm sorry, I will attempt to loosen my strangle hold on Fedor's nuts. It's tough though, as exciting a fighter, and as likeable a person he is. Rampage knows what's up, when commentating for Fedor/Randleman I belive he said "Have y'all ever talked to Fedor, he is one cool dude" then went on to say some other nice things about Fedor.

No doubt you were and I believe still are ten times the athlete Gannon is, but I think Kimbo has come a long way training with Bas. That remains to be proven. I really don't think Kimbo is a bad guy, a decent street cat. Based on what Bas says about him, I would say it's 50/50, you versus him. Based on watching his street fights, Wordsworth wins easy. Although I havn't seen you do jack for 10 years, you obviously are capable of a lot, and I trust your word on what you say you are currently capable of.

Kimbo and I would be cool, respect given both ways.

I could beat him on faster angles, from the side faster feet and superior cardio, that's what I train for, not strength bulk, that never was my thing.

I, like him, have dead calcified knuckles ,but move better laterally for angles and don't gas. The longer it goes, the better I will do, he would punch foward, I would retreat and shell and circle, and bide my time, he would punch himself out, and then I finish, and if he shot, he's dead, All Pro LB jump on top of him, that's in reserve as my very best end it move.

I think Kimbo Slice is great natural talent without training and direction, once a hardcore understanding like Bas starts to tune him, he will go as as very far as his late age and still ability will take him.

Believe it or not, I absolutely know I could beat him in an MMA or Street Match, I have assessed his ability versus mine, he would lose.

My tummy hurt this morning while I was walking to the store, but I was like fvck the bullsh*t and kept walking. Then a mosquito bit me, didn't even slow me down much. Then I was petting my cat and she scratched me, that's where my pain threshold gave out and I had to lay down for a bit.

It's great that you care so much, and want to do the right thing, but don't end up in the belly of the beast.

The latest news : Couture waiting to fight Fedor next fall:


Randy Couture appeared at HDNet Fights on Saturday night and reaffirmed to fans that he will return to fighting, but not in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, as he will stay out until his current contract expires and wait for a fight with Fedor Emelianenko.

“I am not retired,” said Couture at the HDNet Fights show in Dallas, Texas. “I am waiting for my UFC contract to expire. I will fight Fedor Emelianenko.”

Couture’s statement will surely come as a shock to many fans who were waiting to see if the current UFC heavyweight champion would return to the Octagon, but it looks as if now he has decided sit out and wait for the dream match-up with Fedor at some point in the future.

Another embattled UFC heavyweight was a guest at the HDNet Fights show, as former champion Andrei Arlovski was present at the show and post fight press conference.

“I will fight very soon,” Arlovski stated about his fight career.

Sources close to the fighter confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that Arlovski is also waiting out his UFC contract which according to them expires in April and at that time the Belarus native will look to move on to another organization.

Also at the show was former UFC and Bodog Fight middleweight contender, Matt “The Law” Lindland who was brought in by the show’s promoters to commentate as a part of the broadcast team.

While no announcement was made towards his future involvement as a fighter for the organization, Lindland’s promotion, SportFight, will be seen on HDNet next Saturday night as a part of the networks extensive mixed martial arts coverage.
