Poseidon -- tannish orange and solid?

I've been a big fan of Poseidon for the past few months, and I've probably gone through close to two kilos by now.

However, I just opened my latest batch, and the product inside was congealed into a hardened mass. It was also tannish-orange in color. After breaking it up, it dissolves into water with essentially no foaming at all, and produces a light-orange color. All the previous batches I've had were a fine powder, pink in color, foamed vigorously in water, and produced a pink solution. I have two 450 gram jugs now, and they are both exactly the same -- completely congealed, tan, no foaming.

Bad batch? Please advise. The Nimbus customer support form gave me a server error when I tried to submit this report there.

No worries man, the product is still just as effective, it's just been overly exposed to humidity that has caused the clumping and discoloration.

Thanks for the response. I wonder, though, why the product is normally effervescent? I assume it helps with the rapid absorption. I also assume that the normal pinkish-red color is due primarily to the methyl-cobalamin, which I know has an intensely red color, but changes to brown when it degrades.

As I said, the product I have is no longer red, and no longer effervescent.

The product in question was from Nutraplanet's "Poseidon Blowout" sale. I wrote them to inquire, and to their credit, they responded by immediately shipping me a replacement.

Don't get me wrong, I love the product! It's a staple for me, after several months of constant use. I'm glad the formulation has been changed to be more shelf-stable.

The effervescent qualities are due to the acids and bicarbonates(primarly absorbic and sodium)reacting together in the prescence of H2O to release CO2 and alkalize the solution(think alka-seltzer), in the process it also dissolves the actives for absorption. When exposed to liquid during shipping, packing, etc the product already undergoes this process somewhat. So with the clumpy Poseidon you have, the fizzle isn't as apparent because some of the process has already taken place(it's still good just already set to go).

I think you'll be quit satisfied with the new absorbant packaging my friend. Thanks for the support.:cheers:

I apologize for you receiving a "clumped up" container of Poseidon and hope your satisfied with the replacement Nutra Planet sent you. I assure you that any future purchases you make of Poseidon will not be clumped...the problem has been solved.

Best way?

What's the best way of breaking up the clump? Just opened up my bottle (from an order a couple months back) and it's one solid clump. Couldn't even take out the scooper. Been hacking away with a spoon (still comes out very clumpy), but just wondering if someone's devised a better way.

My personal fav method.

WRT clumping...

BUT, I found the key to the clumping problem. All it takes is a one-gallon zip lock freezer bag and a rolling pin. I dumped Poseidon into the freezer bag, released as much air as possible and sealed the bag. Then, I simply took a rolling pin and rolled it for about 5-10 min. NO MORE CLUMPS!!! It returned to its fine consistency (w/ exception of a few VERY small pebbles). I dumped it back into the container and all is good as new.

So, for those that get stuff that clumps... freezer bags and rolling pin... that's all you need!

Thanks! Did try some of what was posted to no avail., but haven't tried the bag one yet though.

Looks like a good idea. Will have to break apart the Poseidon first so I can take it out of the container, but I think this will help it get back to a nice "powdery" state.

Trust me... works like a charm. Just shake the bottle vigorously to break it up enough to empty into the bag and your good to go.
