This is a long explanation of my history with AP and P-slin. If it is too much to read I will summarize by saying that I can not recommend P-slin enough even if AP was disappointing.
I too bought AP when it first came out and not happy with the results. I gained weight and fat and my blood sugars went through the roof while on it. I am not diabetic (my girlfriend is so I have access to a tester) and never had elevated readings until I was taking AP. It took about 4 months for my sugars to completely stabilize after 7 weeks of AP use. Just as troubling was that after more than a year of some of the best customer service ever, I could not get an answer to multiple e-mails with my questions regarding P-slin and if it was worth a try for me after my experience with AP.
Prior to the release of P-slin, I was trying AP again using the P-slin protocol (to finish off my opened bottle and help with my decision about buying P-slin) with better results. I still had some concerns about the long term effect on my blood sugars and monitored them almost as if I suffer from type 2 diabetes like my girlfriend.
Partially because I have used just about every USP product at one time or another and been pleased with all but AP and partially because I did not want to miss the intro price, I decided to try P-slin despite my concerns. It was definitely worth it. I use P-slin as directed on resistance training days only. My carbs come from 1 cup of grape nuts with milk and about 33-35 grams of whey. One hour later I take 5 g creatine. Another half hour later I take 1 PowerFull and 1 Super Cissus and then wait half an hour to workout.
My strength went up, my weight went up, my energy and endurance went up and my body fat (using mybodycomp.com) dropped. I gained size and muscle hardness while visibly leaning out. I am not sure if it is directly related to the P-slin or just that the extra energy and endurance allowed my form to stay clean, but my joints hurt less as well. I have continued to monitor my blood sugars thus far without elevation.
If I were you I would P-slin on its own.
