I had decided to award +3 for just picking the upset as well as the spread... it's a small incentive to play conservatively and small encouragement to pick the minor upsets... otherwise, picking the baby upsets are nearly worthless. if you guys wish to revert to the prior scoring system (just spread points) we can do that instead, no problem

In my mind, the point of it is picking the surprise upsets not the games that are almost even.

we'll go back to just the spread points starting next week, we should all pick games in which the spread is a touchdown or more

How about picking games where the spread is more than a fg. I picked a game than was +5.5 and I don't see that much of a difference between that and a TD. I can see where size is coming from but that GT-ND game last wk opened at 3.5 and got bet down to 1 during the week. Using games at a TD or better, you can have a game you like at +7 but by Saturday get screwed by .5 of line movement. That doesn't have anything to do with the matchup at all because the spread is really still a TD, but the public will always move that line off of 7.

(sorry if it doesn't make sense but I'm sure Size and a few others know what I mean)

I need to stop thinking like a gambler and have some fun with this. Please ignore the previous post.
 
I don't think points should be awarded for a win,IMO, it unfairly adds advantage to playing the safer small spreads versus having the guts to go for the greater reward and risk of the wider spreads.
 
we'll just go back to the previous scoring system.
pick the underdog correctly, get the spread.

Baylor was not the underdog. Baylor was giving points. I can assure you that Rice on the road vs a Big 12 team will never be a favorite.

I picked ND over Michigan before the spreads were posted so I should be 2-1 not 2-0.

Michigan still sucks, but ND is the worse team I think I've ever seen
as long as I've been watching college football.

What happened to Notre Dame's offense LOL ? They look like a scout team offense. No offensive TD's and we're 3 games into the season. I bet they can't wait to play Army and Navy LOL.

Unless Weis pulls something out of his ass it wouldn't surprise me if they don't win a game this year. They can't even do basic things like snap the ball, field punts, make hand offs etc. I'm fading them the rest of the year.

I'm surprised they haven't tried to sprinkle in more trick plays to at least open something up and maybe even get lucky. Do you think Weis' job is in jeopardy if they play like this the rest of the year ?

it was a blowout, Miami showed great instincts and speed for the first time in I don't know how long... they looked great

I think they have to stick with him after the contract extension but
there's gonna be alot of explaining to do if Willingham ends up with a better record than Weis and he gets to stay. It's already coming up now and then but it's gonna be a mess by seasons end.

Rest of the ACC doesn't look so good. We have a good chance at making it to the ACC title game.

A&M needs a new staff. Not running Javorsky Lane was stupid.
