    DAY 38: BACK/BIS

    CURRENT WEIGHT: 235lbs

Lucky winner of the day for preworkout was MusclePharm's Assault. I just played the mystery crane/claw game and stuck my hand in the bag of samples and whatever came out... thats what I took. Can't say I was too impressed. Low energy, no focus, mediocre taste

    DEADLIFT: 135x10 185x6 225x6 275x5 (felt heavy!) 315x3 350x1 185x6,7,6 135x10

UNDERHAND GRIP PULLDOWNS: weight ea. hand 85x10,10,10,10 immediate dropset to...

LAT CABLE PULLDOWNS: 120x6 100x8 75x10 55x12 rapid succession between sets

    SEATED CLOSE GRIP ROW: 120x8,8,8,7

    ONE-ARM DB ROW: 55x10,10,10,7

BENT OVER ROW: 65x10,10,10,10 rest/pause for the stretch+squeeze with each rep 1:2:1 rhythm

    STERNUM-UPS: BWx3,1,2,2

LAT SHRUGS: Pull-up Station BWx12,16 Dip Station BWx20,10

    HAMMER CURL: 45x8,5+3@40 40x8,8L/7R

INCLINE DB CURL: 25x8, 5+3@20 20x6,8 I thought my biceps were going to EXPLODE they were so pumped

STANDING DB CURL: 30x4 LOL nope the pump was too much... 15x10,10

Was happy about getting that 350x1 deadlift. I was scared because 275 felt SO heavy and I almost had trouble with the last 2 reps. 315 was a breeze so I knew it was time to test the waters. Felt great. Spent a helluva lot more time in the gym than I meant to because someone ended up chatting me up about my deadlift form because they wanted to see if they were doing it correctly. Kinda took me outta the zone but I like to be helpful.

my favorite all time pre used to be mesomorph....but they f'ed with the formula and haven't tried it since.... been hearing good things about noxipro by ctd...i used to like shotgun by vpx, but they have f'ed with that formula way too many times. clearshot by e-pharm has some kick to it, if you take enough.

i have 3 tubs of speedx3 and 4 bottles of oxyblack from the nutra sale, really hard to beat speedx3.....but if i did go for a change the noxipro is what i would try.

Much thanks gentlemen. Did you guys see the back pic I put up on the last page? AaronJP1 spurred me to take some pics so I could see for myself. I can see more change in the mirror than the camera picks up though which has me scratching my head. I have most certainly gone up in weight and I'm not the only one who has noticed. Unfortunately, and IMO, I've put on a nice little layer of fluff across my belly... which was expected. My abs don't show through quite as much as they used to and I (and this may sound weird/hard to explain) feel my shirts fitting differently... like my stomach sticks out slightly now and I can feel my shirts catching on it more than I used to which makes me uncomfortable BUT like I said I was expecting that so FFFUUUUUUU!

Heading to gym now for some chest/tri action. NO-Xplod v2 was selected from the mystery claw game today. Tasted just how I remember, effervescent or not! Beta alanine tingling already. We'll see how it holds up. These preworkout products are so strange. I'm so used to agmatine for pumps but none of the previous 2 sample packets I've tried incorporates it (I still see the L-Arginine in them). I love me some pump so we'll see...

Only one PR today. I blame two things. Myself for not giving myself a day of rest from doing Back/Bis yesterday and second my ****ty preworkout! NO-XPlod v2 sucked! I didn't feel a damn thing! Some beta-alanine sensitivity at the beginning that faded and a lack of energy towards the end of the workout. Disappointed. I miss you, SpeedX3

I have always done them on back day for as long as I can remember. But ever since their incorporation into my workouts I was using the wrong form which always involved more of my back. Now that I've changed things up I can see how they would be suited for leg day because my quads definitely got sore after doing them for awhile. However, I find my leg day to be taxing enough. Between squats, front squats, and leg press I don't think I'd be able to managed adding deadlifts in. Even if I did, they would be SLDL instead of conventional which is beneficial for the use of the lower posterior chain. I've just gotten used to it as part of my back routine!

Haha! I know I know... but it was just a little sample and I figured why not! Besides it shows what stacks up to SpeedX3 which is NADA at the moment !

Just my metaphor for how I'm choosing what preworkout to use I literally have them all sitting in a plastic bag and I don't look when I stick my hand in there so it literally IS a claw game just like the ones you see in Walmart!

Between squats, front squats, and leg press I don't think I'd be able to managed adding deadlifts in. Even if I did, they would be SLDL instead of conventional which is beneficial for the use of the lower posterior chain. I've just gotten used to it as part of my back routine!
On a lower body day they would be most beneficial. You don't have to pull every week, specially if you have been taxing the CNS with Dead Lifts, Squats , Front squats all along. However I would never recommend someone squating the same day as deadlifting anyhow. I would say you can do Dead Lift (SLDL and/or Sumo Deadlifit) on Leg Days every other week instead of Squats, or simply have 2 lower body days, one for Pulling (dead, SLDL) and Posterior Chain activation (Good Mornings, Bridges) with core engagement, AND another lower body day for Pushing , Hamstring/Quad engagement and core engagement too. Alas one day for Deads, and one for Squats. It is just my opinion, but changing the manner of the lifts will stimulate the CNS better, and not to mention will be better for the metabolic advantages they pose for bulking.

Just my metaphor for how I'm choosing what preworkout to use I literally have them all sitting in a plastic bag and I don't look when I stick my hand in there so it literally IS a claw game just like the ones you see in Walmart!
This would not work with prodigy samples since they are in the little bottles you would know what you are picking.

Dump them in Zip Lock Baggies and label them Prodigy, do that with all the other samples...thus it's fair.

You might be on to something here. I've been contemplating changing up my lifting routine for awhile... either by going less volume/sets (maximum 4-6 exercises total with 16-24 total sets) on lifting days to see if I'm overtraining OR switch completely to PHAT since my body does seem to enjoy high volume. I like your idea of rotating out squats/deadlifts for leg day though. Would free up more time for me on a dedicated back day and make leg day not so strenuous

You'd probably squat 500 and your legs would still look small because of how tall you are!
