I don't think you understand how bad Kansas State is this season. They would get beat by Louisville third stringers. They are the second worse team in the Big 12 next to Colorado.

I'm not joking Rogue.

This team has quit playing for Coker. Read the ESPN.com article by Jorge Millian.
Eye opening - to say the least.

Edit - apparently, I thought Rogue was spelled Rouge....

Pretty sure he stays till the end of this season. Also pretty sure he's gone at the end.

I've seen a weak vote of confidence. Constant statements that the AD and Coker's performance will "be reviewed" at the end of the season.
The AD is tied to Coker because he gave him the big 5 year extension and raise after last year's AWFUL season.

Milian isn't an ESPN guy - he's from the Palm Beach Post. He has a bit more credibility than most.

Word in the Miami Herald is that a rich booster has privately been talking of raising money to buy-out Coker's contract (either a million or 2 - I forget exactly) after this season.

Plenty of candidates thrown around. The guy at Rutgers seems like a good one. I think the def. coordinator is probably not the guy - otherwise I think they'd make the change NOW.
I think he'll end up as NC State's new head coach.
Also keep seeing Tubberville. Apparently, he says his best job was at The U as Jimmy Johnson's assistant. Maybe he's still peeved at the admin's flying to Louisville.
Rich Rodriguez' name is thrown around. Not sure if he'll leave WVa or not.

All I have to say is Jeff Bowden and Coker stay til end. Both are gone after. At least I pray for a new Offensive Coordinator. Both teams will always have the talent, it just has to develop under the right coaching.

On another note I would to see Rich Rodriguez stay at WVU, and create a dynasty(even if they are criticized every year for their schedule). I definitly love to see smaller market teams rise to the top and over throw the traditionals.

Who's fans don't care because they all come from Asia-pacific....

Kev - RichRod is one of the many reported candidates for the Miami job.
Heard on ESPN today (and saw on a message board last night) that a member of the UM board of trustees said that if we don't WIN the ACC championship game - Coker is out.
As I said above - ain't no way in hell of that happening. So, by Dec. 1st or so we should hear of Coker's firing.

Houston over Miami.

Houston wins on a blocked punt for a TD - in the 2nd quarter.
(You know we quit playing after the 1st Q right???)

Georgia Tech (+11) over Virginia Tech

Beamer & Hokies are still the most classless team in the country.. sorry Miami. Go GT.

I was about to pick Temple to beat Vandy, but wow, Temple is absolutely horrible.

Temple Owls' Football:
thus far:
Aug. 31, 2006 at Buffalo L 9-3 0-1 (0-1) +3.5
Sept. 9, 2006 Louisville L 62-0 0-2 +23.5
Sept. 16, 2006 at Minnesota L 62-0 0-3 +24
Sept. 23, 2006 at Western Michigan L 41-7 0-4 (0-2) +17

DJarrett isn't playing vs. WASU, but USC will win by 20. Turner and Smith catch 3 TDs between them.

I am still scared to death of LSU. I really think they can beat any top 5 team - that includes my Trojans. Granted it was a mess (both teams) in Auburn, but LSU is nasty. I still like them to win the SEC West, Auburn will need to lose 2 times.

JaMarcus Russell (QB-LSU) isn't really a big game player. He needs his wideouts to create a lot of separation... The thing is, the LSU Flankers do just that. If Russell can make good decisions and they are given a short field, LSU will win every game.

I just wanted to get this on the second page.

We need some more conversation..

JHM80, I miss you :( I'm upset that you had to give up on this season (like the rest of the Miami) -- being serious, I wish we could talk more SEC and ACC. It's a strange year for FSU and Miami

Thoughts from Saturday / etc.
top10, etc.

Ohio State (1) - Iowa: Ohio State is the best team in the country. Troy Smith should get the Heisman by default if they go undefeated. Regardless of stats. Pittman is the most unheralded player in the nation. Gonzalez is a great posession reciever and probably more valuable than Ginn. OSU is solid and no other team should recieve first place votes. Tate is decent. He throws a good ball but he does not get it out quick enough. Hawks miss Greenway and Hodge - they might have helped stop Pittman. Critics are bashing Iowa's recievers - but this game is on Tate. He is not making decisions fast enough. Albert young has trouble against big LBs. They will struggle against Penn St. Game is 31-17 now, 4th quarter. I'm assuming Ohio St. wins this. Troy Smith is as good as Vince Young was at the same time last year and he has played better competition.

Auburn (2): Would LSU be 2 if they had beaten Auburn? Probably not. That game was basically a tie in my mind. That is why I don't like Auburn at 2. I still believe LSU will win the SEC West, somehow. Brandon Cox is blah. Their LBs are all [listed] under 220lbs. I wish some team would run right at them.

USC (3): Contary to whatever the hell ESPN/ABC is saying, USC did not get a 'scare' tonight against Washington State. USC trailed by 3 in the first quarter and then never trailed again. WASU played well though, 26 first downs. USC scored a touchdown in ever quarter. USC is still finding their identity though, they find it well before the ND game.

West Virginia (4): Give me a f_cking break. West Virginia plays teams that would lose in 1-AA. Pathetic.

Florida (5): The Defense is great. Nobody can run on Florida. The pass rush is not what it could/should be though. Fellow Gator DT Marcus Thomas is done for the year after smoking weed and getting busted for the 3rd time in 3 years. I still don't like Meyer's system. It's predictable, you can't change the QB 2 times in the middle of the drive.

Michigan (6): Michigan should be 4. Got to hand it to them. I still feel they got to beat a sleepy Notre Dame team that just went to Penn State and Georgia Tech. Darius Walker was tried. But Michigan kicked their ass. Michigan is solid.

Texas (7): Mack Brown schedules Sam Houston State and beat up on Top 50 rejects. Kind of classless, but a learning experience for McCoy. They will beat the Sooners next weekend.

Louisville (8): Hope the beat the hell out of West Virginia.

LSU (9): This team is absolutely nasty. If they had beat Auburn I would like them at #3. Gators get them for homecoming next weekend. Bad news for Florida.

Georgia (10): Blah. They nearly lost to Colorado - which means in theory Montana State would beat the dawgs. Typical Georgia, no playmakers just a bunch of above average players. They have no QB. Thomas Brown is nothing special. Good ole farm boy Joe Tereshinski is garbage, he shouldn't be playing competitive football. Tennessee will beat them next week if Ole Miss doesn't this week.

other teams:
Notre Dame(12): Still a very good team. Whoever scheduled Michigan after playing a physical Penn State defense is an idiot. Quinn wins the heisman if Smith loses 2 games.

Virginia Tech - Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech is so much better than Virginia Tech it's disgusting. VTech, as usual, is completely disorganized. That's Beamer ball. CED59 picks the upset.

Michigan State: Pathetic. Can't fire the players, so fire the coach.

Oregon: Good team, reminds me of the Joey Harrington days.

We tried like hell to give Houston the game.
I learned that we really only have one true Miami player (not these pansies parading around in the uniform of The U) - Javarrious James.
We better get this kid 20 carries a game - or else I'll threaten (yet again) to beat Coker over the head.

I'm just distraught. We beat f*cking Houston AT HOME by a f*cking point.
This is pathetic. Flat out pathetic.
Yet, strangely enough - there are Miami fans out there happy with last nights win. :fool2:

What's even more sad is that the ACC is so f*cking bad that this abomination of a Miami team could still win.
I'm pretty sure we won't beat GaTech at home on their Homecoming.
But I do know that GTech WILL lose one or two or three bad games a year and play big in one or two. I'm considering that they played big against ND and, of course, VaTech yesterday. So - it's not out of the realm of possiblity that Reggie Ball will forget (again) to throw often enough to Cal Johnson against UM on Oct. 28th and we win like 7-6 or something pathetic like that.
I also know that VaTech sucks. They do this sh*t every year. They get up into the top 10 (or close as last night) and then lay a f*cking stinker at least once.
I'm hoping it happens yet again in the OB in November.

It was nice to see the kids (esp. Baby J - Edgerrin's cousin) get a win - but bittersweet knowing that it may help keep Coker's job.
:frustrate

I watched alot of football - but I can't say much more because I'm so distraught with that pitiful performance.
Houston - f*cking Houston!!!!

(Except that if the Buckeyes and Trojans end up in the Fiesta - I'm definately not watching. I'm pretty sure I'll never watch a Fiesta bowl again - probably even if a Miami team were to make it - after Coker is fired, that is.)

this is the scariest thing. Coker lowers the standards of the program and people stoop to his level.

The funny thing is - those people are calling the rest of us band-wagoners.

WTF you talkin' bout! If I'm a bandwagon fan - I'd have jumped ship when we had 3 losses in '04.

We just have many delusional fans - I'll say it like that.

Yeah RD - that's true.

I gotta think that some people will slow down or completely stop their contributions to UM's athletic program. And, considering the small size of the school and that a very good % of students could give a sh*t about sports period (outside of soccer - many non-US folks go to Miami) - that WILL add up quickly and hit the AD right where it hurts - the budget.
