The Phillies are the defending WSC and rightly so. Lee had an outstanding performance.

I look forward to facing Pedro 'tub-o-goo' Martinez in Game 2...for old times sake.

Thats what happens when you have vast amounts of talent. He made it go his way, not by chance.

The body language by the yanks just wasnt there... ARod returned to his natural post season self. They need to make the next game happen, cause you cannot beat Philly in Philly.

in all honesty, if the yanks win tonight (which I think they will) they will need to take 2 of 3 in philly IMO. Not impossible with Pettite v. Hamel in 3 and CC v. ? in 4

I like the Pettitte matchup and if the Yanks win it will be CC/Lee again. However, Lee hasnt pitched on 3 days rest, so it could be interesting

But with Cliff Lee's outing being called the best post season outing since Bob Gibson (Arguably the best pitcher in baseball history)... I would be a little scared of that match up again.

Oh no doubt be aware, but certainly not afraid. I am curious how he will recover on 3 days rest.

I personally dont think Hamels will do that well, he has been roughed up in the post season thus far

I think after last night, the yanks are back to who they are, the deciding factor was the home run by Arod.. Which was clearly a home run. Why they would have a dam camera hanging over the outfield wall is beyond me..

Our boy Swisher! hahaha, no need to say anything else...

I think CC is locked in for tonight..I.E redemtion... tonight will tell the fate of the world series

Playing with "House Money", a win tonight could be the final nail. At the very least we leave there 3-2.

Exactly. It may be more fun to beat them in their own house. Phillies fans suck worse than Boston fans (love ya, Jon!) and I'd love to see them clap their inflatable dildos and wave their cum rags at THAT!

There is no greater competition than playing the defending WSC for the title and that is what the Phillies are, WSC. In all of the losses the loser had his azz handed to them. It's gone both ways.

Let us not forget that the Yankees are 26 time WSC. The Phillies are still down one, need to win two going into the Bronx. It's an unlikely prospect, but this is baseball.

    Chase Utley is a monster!

well, not the end of the world. Still quite confident in Andy in game 6, especially as this could very well be his last start ever (based on almost retiring last year). Nothing would be sweeter than beating Pedro with our actual lineup.

Thats what killed me last night, not Burnett but that Molina needed to be in the lineup. The 7,8,9 was a hole.

My first job ever was as a PR intern at the stadium back in the Winfield era. I don't have to pay for admission. So there!

On another note, that comeback rally late in the game was THRILLING! I friggin' LOVE November baseball! I have no doubt how this will end.

Baseball SHOULD NOT go into November. Hell this year the WS started on the 28th of October.. that is just ridiculous.

Yes, its baseball. Last year when every broken bat bloop single went the Phillies way, they won. This year, thats the Yankees. When Jamie Moyer at age 68 wins in the World Series, the baseball gods are on your side. When Joe Blanton comes out of nowhere and wins game 4 while hitting a HR, the baseball gods are on your side. When Andy Pettite bloops a single for an RBI, the baseball gods aren't leaning your way. When AJ Burnette who is certifiable looks like Bob Gibson in Game 2, the baseball gods aren't on your side. Its all about the baseball gods!

But who knows.....repeating is tougher than winning the first time.

I figured angry philly fans would use the payroll. So predictable
