What advice would you give your younger self?

What advice do you wish you could go back and give yourself or others?

Here's a few of mine:
-You shoulnt have sold your company before it even got off the ground.
-Don't go chasing the girl down the street, this isn't a fairy tail.
-You won't get where you want to go in life by saving your pennies, sure it'll make for a good retirement but that's it.

1. Quality/driven friends. Don't spend time with losers.
2. Read everyday.
3. Don't workout/diet for girls.
3.a. If you do, remember that big and strong is overrated. Girls dig the lean and mean(healthy) look.
4. Help others.

at your first job, start contributing to a 401k at 3%. every time you get a raise, half the raise % goes to making the 401k % higher

use store credit cards and gas station credit cards only, no visa or MC.

Home equity loans should only get taken out for improvements on the house

have all your children close together and get it over with instead of spreading out diaper changing over 10 years

daily driver cars are utility items, buy something brand new but the cheapest damn thing you can. Save buying a nice car for a spare car

All of these are great, I'm hoping someone somewhere will benefit from the advice.

I have another:
Spend more time chasing your dreams then you do friends. Not everyone will want to follow you down your path to your dream

Good stuff!

Never move in with your girlfriend. Relationships of convenience often result in unplanned pregnancy. Unplanned pregnancy irreversibly alter your future potential in more ways than you can count.

Reconcile your issues issues with your dysfunctional family of origin as soon as possible before your past relationships issues become your present relationships issues.

Forgive your mother and father for the mistakes they made raising you. You are destined to make many of the same mistakes yourself and know how and why they did.

Don't take personally the mistakes (divorce, abuse, abandonment) your parents made.

Refrain from substance use and abuse. Alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine use has never ever resulted in any positive result or outcome in any area of my life...ever!

Keep your body reasonably sexually pure. Avoid pornography and sexual deviancy. There are things you can never unsee and never undo that will influence your marriage bed and intimacy in ways that can be very harmful and painful to both you and your wife.

1. Do not back out of that decision halfway through or else you will regret it the rest of your life.
2. It's not love, don't waste years trying to get over it and lose sight of college.
3. Invest in yourself, not in things.
4. Never bet on the best outcome.
5. Do not let your heart harden in the face of suffering. Nothing will bother you more than losing the ability to feel empathy.

Try and have kids a little earlier, I'm 46 and have a 9 y/o son and 13 y/o daughter, I would have preferred to be starting 40 when my son will be freshman in high school. Still great to be a stay at home father.

Try harder for better relations with family.

Branch out when it came to rugby , could of had a chance to play over seas but felt loyalty to my club was more important. Stupid.

*Go to the Dr. When its broke, not when it hurts 20 years later.
*listen to your father, or youll end up knowing he was right when you hear yourself telling your own son the same things
*take that job in Afghanistan, it will fix a LOT of current issues!

-Learn a foreign language or two. I grew up in a house that spoke German and Hungarian and thought it was dumb to learn when I was young. I kick myself.
-Save more money.
-Date more goth and punk rock girls, they were fun!
-That kid that was always picked on in high school...stand up for him more often.

I used to think foreign languages were dumb too but I took one because I had too. Wish I had continued my German.

I wish I could have read this year's ago.

Every point you make. Who doesn't love porn? But he's dead on point about it IMO.

Yes I still watch it.

Tons of good **** on here I wish I knew about years ago when I was just boy.

Here's something people need more and more of, for a few of my friends from a bro.

Don't get so caught up in "that girl" that you lose sight of the bigger picture. Doesn't matter if she's yours or not, if you lose sight of your goals and ambitions in life, eventually you'll start to lose her as well.

Also don't get so caught up with one girl that you miss opportunities around you. They could be other girls, hanging out with friends, opportunities for jobs etc. Isolating yourself from the world is the easiest way to lose control in your life.

"Don't date this b*tch, don't date that b*tch, don't date this b*tch. Women in your area are for the most part all c*nts. Go train for a med tech job, instead of waiting and trying to do all these other things." Side note, I live in Baltimore.
