Use to use Cortisolve but I get raw powder by the kilo. 600mg 2 to 3 times a day. Helps relax me /less anxiety and helps with some water weight loss if been stuck on the scale for a while.

Hmm, is the raw powder more effective? I'm enjoying cortibloc from chemix , but maybe I have to revisit this . I was only using 1 scoop of cortisolve.

Thanks brother

How does it compare to to stronger cortisol reducers such as b aet, 7-keto, etc?

I definitely wouldn't worry about rebound, this isn't going to be especially strong or crush cortisol.

Honestly the studies are a bit mixed as far as stress and cortisol go, but if using for that benefit it seems dosing it pre-workout is probably going to have the most bang for your buck considering the performance benefits with possibly improving cortisol as well.

I like PS as a nootropic for potential long term brain benefits. Anecdotally when I have gone higher dosing I have enjoyed it during more stressful (during weight loss and higher stress times) situations in a split (2-3 dosings per day), but that has always been in a formulation and haven't gotten around to trying it "individually" yet.

How does it compare to to stronger cortisol reducers such as b aet, 7-keto, etc?
It is going to be "weaker" IMHO. I don't have much cortisol blocking experience though and probably in the minority on the boards as I don't think blasting cortisol is as beneficial as many want to think and feel more life style changes and sleep are going to have much more "bang for your buck" to help cortisol than directly targeting it.

So take that FWIW. I think PS can be a beneficial ingredient, but I wouldn't expect drastic changes with it.

:)
As a side note there was this study I thought of because this was a PA thread but is now a PS thread and that study combined them.

Way more effective mg per mg because you're paying a fraction of the cost. Also cortisolve is only standardized at 50% and I use 70% sometimes 50% depends which one I buy.

PS doesn't directly lower cortisol, as through inhibition of the 11-BHSD enzyme. It works through improving the efficiency of the nervous system and influencing phospho-lipid turnover in cell membranes. It is much more for long-term cortisol control. Therefore, timing is not going to be as critical as with a substance such as B-AET, which imparts acute effects.

Also, PS is more of a cortisol modulator, optimizing cortisol levels, rather than merely lowering them. PS has also been shown to dramatically alter the testosterone/cortisol ratio strongly in favor of testosterone. PS sensitizes the leydig cells of the testes to the effects of LH.

As to it's "strength"compared to other cortisol reducers, I'm unaware of any studies directly comparing it to other substances. However, PS itself has been shown in several human clinical trials to strongly reduce exercise induced cortisol spikes; so, I can not agree that it is "mild".

In my opinion, the best way to think about PS is to see it as an effective strategy for long term optimization of cortisol levels; something EVERYONE should be concerned with, even if you don't currently have any specific issues with elevated cortisol, and even if you are a young man/woman.

Over time, as you age, cortisol levels tend to rise in response to stress--the body becomes less efficient in modulating cortisol response.

B-AET, on the other hand, directly interferes with the 11-BHSD enzyme, making it more effective at ACUTELY reducing cortisol.

I have clinically elevated cortisol. I use both B-AET and PS to very effectively reduce and modulate my cortisol levels.

Iconic Formulations (no, I don't work for them) produces a very good PS supplement. In fact, it should still be on sale right now, I believe.

For B-AET I prefer the MUCH faster acting sublingual version produced by Partick Arnold and his Prototype Nutrition.

Considering price and research I think Ash is pretty tough to beat.

YMMV and everyone has their own experiences but I’d easily choose Ash.

that's the product I was thinking about buying
EndoAmp has the same amount of PS, but also adds Alpha GPC - plus the benefit of being capped - you can take 3 caps preworkout on workout days, or take 3 caps spread throughout the day on non workout days.

I tried Matt Porter cortisolve

I noticed nothing and had no rebound either
Frankly, PS is something that should be taken on the regular - the effects improve the longer it's used. If you just grabbed a tub and ran it for a month, much of the benefits were just starting to kick in...and they can be a little subtle. this is why AET is popular, cortisol modulation happens really quickly - people notice results in days, not weeks. But, PS is an amazing product for long term health - especially brain health! Some amazing studies on it's potential long term benefits.

Agreed on the above. PS acts more like a buffer for cortisol and healthy body/brain function overall. Kind of like taking a vitamin, there's not an extreme swing or anything right away but you will feel it kicking in more and more.

@thebigt I am sorry to hear that. Have you considered supplementing with products that act as vasodilators? My father (who was a simply GREAT guy) had hardening of the arteries and had heart ailments beginning at about age 40, and ultimatey he had a stroke. For that reason I have been supplementing with Citrulline Malate, Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate, Pycnogenol, Potassium Nitrate, and Beet Root Powder for several years, and have used CM and AAKG for 20 years or more. There is also an excellent book on dementia called "Memory Rescue" by Dr. Amen.

If you've not already, you might consider reading up on KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate). It is dirt cheap when purchased in bulk. If you do, take it with Vit C.
