Hey guys,

I recently had MRI’s for lower back and shoulder pain. Turns out I have 3 herniated discs: C5-C6, L4-L5, L5-S1!! Along with this I’ve more fluid within the facet joint than normally expected and signs of degen disc disease.

Has anyone suffered from similar and any supplements help???

Thanks in advance

Yep.
You'll receive the error message.
Ignore it.

No problem, man.

Congratulations. You are exactly like an astronomically large percentage of the adult population. It turns out even people who have zero back pain often have bulged or damaged discs, or other signs of “degenerative disc disease” (ie; a bullshit term that doctors and therapists who aren’t advanced spine specialists have a penchant for calling what is basically just aging).

Disc damage is normal, especially for lifters or physical laborers. It isn’t a death sentence, and it doesn’t even mean you have to live with any pain.

Discs naturally harden, callus, and dry out/lose fluid as we age. This actually makes them less sensitive to nerve pain, although issues like arthritis or bone spurs in the joints can become bigger issues as we age.

I STRONGLY recommend you look up the works of Dr. Stuart McGill. There are laid out, simple easy steps to getting yourself out of pain and back to performing stronger than ever. I went from being unable to put my socks on or washing my legs to squatting 617lbs without wraps and deadlifting 630lbs conventional. All of my greatest lifts of my life have been done post rehab.

Back Mechanic is a terrific book. Buy it, read it, fix yourself starting today.

And to get you started - start taking frequent short walks & start doing Bird Dogs and Oblique Planks.

Stop doing anything that pisses your back off for now. You have to get out of inflammation/pain, then build bracing strength, and finally relearn safer stronger movement patterns combined with proper bracing.

So I'm going to go ahead and get this myself. I'm way too young for my back to be such a demotivation in my life and has been for an insane amount of time considering I'm still a couple of years away from my 30s. I'll be forever grateful if this does me any good.

Chris Duffin & Brian Carroll both went on to put up bigger squats and totals after working with McGill than ever before. 1,000lb+ squats. Carroll literally had cracked vertebrae!

It’s so mentally debilitating when you have real pain. It makes you question your entire life. But if you do the work, which is simple, I promise you will see differences.

McGill says over 90% of the people he sees with extreme back pain are not good candidates for surgery - the answer lies in movement, how you choose to move, and how you use your core stabilizers (and their strength endurance).

I've upgraded my desk to a height adjustable one and got a walking pad that goes up to a goo jogging pace so I can progress...walk as much as I can whilst working is the main aim (y)

I have extreme disc and vertebrae damage. Supplements don't help much but 1 arm KB swings and Turkish Get ups help a lot with keeping it stable. I could feel stuff moving before I started these.

Take a look at the Walkingpad R1 Pro! It is heavier than their advertising makes out, but it folds in half and doesn’t take up much space at all!
