I took time off from deads and have recently started them up again. I wanted to know who are some of the heavier deadlifters on this site? Thanks.
20 yrs old and lifts like that? WoW!!! You bench more than I dead...by a lot!
I'm usually deadlifting 450 for 1 solid rep, and sets with weights between 315-405.. Once I get used to a weight, I'll try to max again to see if it went up..
Right now I'm 203.. My bench is 365 for 2, squat 450.. I've had these numbers since weighing 190, so it's not too impressive..How much do you weigh?? How about your other lifts how do they match up.
Most decent gyms will have a lifting platform like that. Excellent for deads.I dont know if I deadlift correctly or not, but I do them on a 1ft-raised platform and the bar goes down to where its 1-2 inches above my shoes, i call it a full deadlift; and I workout with 195lbs at 8 reps...
i've never seen another person do deadlifts like these; its always letting the 45s rest on the floor... case in point, i did squats for the first time today in 8 months and was pushing 245 around like it was nothing... before i stopped doing squats a while back, i was doing like 165-175... my deadlifting really worked my legs big time...
ashamed? hitting 400lbs for 20 reps on squats? if i tried some **** like that, it'd be the end of me. bench is overrated IMO anyway. i'd rather have a squat like yours any day of the week.I'm feeling very ashamed right now - weight 191, height 5'8, squat 400*20 reps, deadlift 385*8 reps - and worst of all flat bench 250 * 4 reps.
All in good time I suppose
That's puking range there. If I go to 15 reps on anything above 225 my wind starts to fail me. I have a hard time with 10 reps at 405. Slap another two hundred pounds on the bar for a double though and I'm feeling pretty goodI'm feeling very ashamed right now - weight 191, height 5'8, squat 400*20 reps, deadlift 385*8 reps - and worst of all flat bench 250 * 4 reps.

Yeah, I always like to keep Deadlifts 8 reps and below. Seem to be way more effective that way. That's puking range there. If I go to 15 reps on anything above 225 my wind starts to fail me. I use a belt for neither squats nor deadlifts - just make sure my form is ok - my grip fails me on deadlift though at 385 or so - so I may need to get me some wrist straps.5'9 209lbs, 405x4
how many of you guys use a belt?
do grip work.I use a belt for neither squats nor deadlifts - just make sure my form is ok - my grip fails me on deadlift though at 385 or so - so I may need to get me some wrist straps.
damn, 15 reps for deads? I think i'd pass out or take a nap at about 85'8'' 160lbs 315 for 15 reps
Man.... I bet that feels great on your shoulders.front squat with 450lbs????????????????? man on man!
Take a few weeks off, then do heavy deads once a week, and maybe some light ones next week.I feel so weak seeing how much everybody else deadlifts, at 6'4 and 254lbs, 365X4 is my best and that was about 6 months ago:sad:. I have bad luck with deads (or maybe bad form) as I always seem to hurt myself, and nothing is worse than lower back injuries:frustrate . I also do them like Bean does, on a platform so I get that full ROM.
