Pool was closed; fail.

Watched a clown fail a 495 quarter squat in running shoes. Then after making fun of my high bar narrow stance ATG squatting, he thought he could do a 405 oly squat and got folded under it. Bahahaha.

My 90% squats were feeling more like 75-80%. Will see if I'm fresh enough to max out at the end of this week.

I really ought to stop lifting heavy. Went from 238 to 247 after thanksgiving. Facepalm. Its killing my cardio.

Must be sick, was feeling super weak in the gym and failing jerks at 225lbs. Hit the track to try and jog it out.

Will probably just relax and hit the pool + sauna/foam rolling for the rest of the week

Swimming:
200m warmup

25m underwater
25m freestyle
1:30 rest

Then
50m breaststroke
50m side stroke
50m crawl stroke

Then
10 minutes of:
Brick retrieval + tread til failure in 15.5' end

Then
350m combat side stroke

Then just messed around with drown proofing:
Bobbed from one end to the other.
Brick push for 5 steps + repeat for 25m
Underwaters across the short length of the pool (15yds) with calisthenics in between

Was able to do my 15yd underwaters with one kick off and glide. Watched someone of a darker skin pigment do a million strokes as soon as he kicked off lol.

Did my 28.3yd underwater I'm about 3-4 strokes

Interesting.

And ever experiment with breastroke pullouts (don't know if that's what you're trying to say when you say kickouts)? Get good at them and you'll be to do underwaters all day and night.

I used to hate it. And it was probably my worst skill. I just stay on top of it for work

Yeah. We do a slightly modified version of it, and call it the keyhole stroke. But more or less, my underwaters are done with a modified breast stroke.

I just mean a push/kick off the wall from a static position, then glide.

My woman told me my chest is small with all the cardio and oly lifting I'm doing.. ****.

So now I gotta have 1 chest day a week put in.

In other news. Home made paleo mayonnaise and baconnaise is the tits.

Pan fried from onions + chicken, cubed some sweet potatoes and baked for 40 minutes. Threw it all together with baconnaise for a chicken salad. Hnnnnnng

2 egg yolks, 3 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp dijon mustard. Then 1/2 c olive oil or bacon fat.

Made some flank pinwheels/meat sushi. They were the tits.

1.5lbs flank
1lb baby spinach
1 zucchini
1 red bell pepper
4 slices of thick bacon.

Started by bringing a sauce pan up to high heat.. Threw the spinach plus 1/4 c water and let it steam for 3 minutes then pulled it off the stove.

Next I cut the bacon into smaller pieces and pan fried em for a few minutes while I chopped the zucchini and red pepper up. Then I threw it into the mix and let it sautee. Added a little minced garlic for good measure.

Next I cut the flank into roll-able slabs, and rubbed salt and pepper in it.

Once the veggies were soft I spread a thick layer of it over the flank, took the spinach and layered it over the top to glue everything in place, then rolled up the flank and tied it up with butchers twine. Seared it over the pan real quick with some butter. Put it in a casserole dish, and poured whatever butter was left from the pan on top of the pinwheels, then baked on 400 for 20 minutes.

The zucchini and peppers were so bacon flavor infused. Wish I snapped a picture before I devoured them.

Nice. 30 is definitely killer. My record is either 225x29 or 31. I don't remember.

I used to grapple with some genetic freak who never lifted weights. His brother was curious what he could do one day, and he did 60x225 for reps, and 275x20. I asked him what he did, and he said 1,000 pushups/dips/pullups/sit ups a day.

I feel like when I did more high volume calisthenics (400 reps of pushups/dips) that my benching was better. Now I'm old and falling apart like Nomz.

4x15 was how i started an 4 month progression, then built up to 20x20 with pretty low rest intervals. Dips was a lot less in volume.

I need to play with my grip. I've been doing rings on rings, but noticed today that I do inclines a fraction of an inch with pinkies inside the rings.

Light jog today for 45 minutes, tried keeping HR below 140.

Will be doing 531 starting tomorrow to help a friend get into powerlifting.

I'll just use it as a cookie cutter template to maintain strength while I start burning some miles for running. At least until I can get some x rays for my hand

I'm sure. The last time I pulled 15 reps on deads it was like 60% with the help of reverse bands, and it tore my butt up.

6'4" on a good day.

My body is weird man. So maybe what works for me, doesn't work for the anyone. I just feel like generate more torque in a narrow grip for pushups/dips, so I press with that grip.

I think i just have retard endurance genetics. I shouldnt be able to run absurd miles with a 40lb pack, or swim long steady distances at 245+ lbs.

It's worth giving a shot. That really isn't too narrow a grip for me. I haven't videoed me in a few weeks, so possibly I'm hit it too wide anyway.

I think that grip is very close to if not where my OHP grip is.
