I have a big problem how to motivate / work /and rebuild what’s been lost through the pain after major shoulder surgery it’s been 2yrs. I had a 10mm tear in my supraspinatus fraying in my biceps tendon and my rotator cuff and shaving of a small portion of the anterior acromion. Any advice would be helpful I’m running out of time I’m 53yrs young.

I would consider hiring a rehab specialist or trainer with experience in this situation to help out. Beyond that, set realistic goals. You're not going to be where you were when you were 20 or 30 or even before the injury, but you should still get back into it. Simply set the goal of getting into the gym. I find when I have my low points, that even starting training is the hardest part. Once you're there and start doing anything, the motivation tends to come back for me.

do what you can. Rehab it, with physical therapy, and even if it heals up, keep rehabbing for prevention

Dont do anything that hurts it. Try different exercises see what you can do.
