USPS delivery confirmation

Earlier yesterday around this time i sent out a envelope to one of my buddies, i got the delivery confirmation # and everything but USPS.com says its still not on file. Do i need to wait a little longer to see what the status is on my package or should i have been able to view the progress and track it by now(just over 24hrs from when i sent it). Thanks much
 
Many times with usps they dont update it till after the person has already got the package, only thing it is good for is knowing if they got it, not where it is.
 
Sad to say, but that last statement isn't true.

USPS Delivery Confirmation is NOT a tracking service, just Delivery Confirmation, you are right about that.

BUT...all that it means is that the package was delivered. It does not mean it's been delivered to the correct address! Yes I have personally had two instances where DC showed it was delivered, but it was at the wrong address!

IOW...don't count on it to mean that someone got something until you hear from the person that they have the package in their hands.
 
Doesn't mean anything, USPS doesn't track the package half the time. You'll see when it's delivered don't worry.

Yea your right about confirmation, wasn't sure on that. The part about tracking is true, but only one those services that are supposed to include "tracking", their tracking is the worst ever.
