UNDERSTANDING CARBS LOL

So when I eat carbs I get fat, if I drop carbs like a paleo type diet I get skinny. I really dont know what to do lol???????

Um. I guess that depends on your goal?

Also it is your calorie amount and energy expenditure making you fat or skinny, not carbs.

Dropping carbs does shed a lot if water weight that makes it seem like a miracle method but in terms of fat loss it comes down to your whole diet

I don't do the whole iifym but I eat fairly low carb, 8oz of protein each meal or atleast I try to, protein bars/shakes as snacks. I eat fairly clean on weekends I may have a little cheat or have some drinks but besides that I'm pretty good with the eating. I also dont gain the weight all over its just str8 to the stomach/love handles, even when I drop weight, the place it never goes completely away is the stomach lol.....

That is unfortunately just the way it is for many if us.

To lose the stubborn fat it takes consistency above anything else. Track your calorie intake a while and get a feel for your TDEE ( calories you need to eat daily to maintain weight)

From there drop off 300-500 calories, from carbs is a good idea if you feel carb sensitive, and go from there.

Myfitnesspal makes this easy to do if you get the app.

Final bits of fat will take more work, and some cardio.

Ideally you are getting in strength training this whole time to maintain muscle mass

You could also try changing the type and timing of your carbs. I used to be exactly like you and held all my weight around my gut. Never saw my abs. I would always cut down my carbs when I wanted to start losing weight.

This all change the first true diet I followed that had me eating plenty of carbs but changed the type and timing. I ate only slow digesting carbs like oats and sweet potatoes and such, and only before 3pm. Every meal before 3 had a palm of protein, fist of veggies, and a fist of carbs. In weeks I was by far the leanest I had ever been and by the end of 14 weeks I was prob half my previous low bf.

Its most likely water retention you're experiences from carbs. If its not effecting your performance or mood, then just forego carbs.

If you're like me and perform better with carbs, then just have your carbs and slowly increase each week. Like 10-20g a week. Your body will get used to a higher carb intake and balance the fluid out but if you're low/no carb for awhile then all of a sudden introduce 200+g the body will retain water. Slow radial changes can help slow this.
