Testosterone replacement therapy doses in Canada

Hi everyone.
This is my first post here. I’ve had several AAS cycles under my belt before starting TRT from my endocrinologist. I live in Canada, and TRT seems to be a little more strict in Canada as compared to the U.S. Im prescribed to 100mg a week of testosterone enanthate, which seems to be the max dose lots of Canadian doctors are comfortable prescribing… even if your blood levels of total, and or free T aren’t adequate.
I’m curious if any Canadian members of AnabolicMinds on TRT have had doses of Testosterone enanthate/cypionate exceeding the max dose of 400mg/month scripted to them?

I am in Canada. I get 100mg which puts me in the upper range 750-800.
If your levels are not in the upper range, did you ask for more?
My TRT Dr (all by phone) has no problem as long as I am 850 or under.

Being in Canada, with the AAS laws being what they are, I see no reason you could not "supplement" your script if you and your lab work deem it necessary.

Hypothetically one could take say, 50mg/wk, for about 6 weeks prior to the next set of labs..................................just saying.

Hi botk1161, honestly I haven’t had my follow up blood test since starting TRT in April 2023. I had one testicle surgically removed in November, 2022, and my free T was at 115ng/dl
in beginning of April. I also was put on 0.5mg, 3times a week of Arimidex, because a small amount of gyno was spotted on my CT scan while my oncologist was making sure testicular cancer didn’t spread after removal of my right testicle. I know Arimidex will boost my

Thanks bro! I see my endocrinologist in person every three months. Early July I go for my second blood test so we’ll see if I my levels rise up to top, or below top tier. Arimidex will raise my levels a bit too.

Yeah that’s definitely true, but still doesn’t mean Canadian DR’s will prescribe higher than the max dose of 400/month dose?

here’s my 2 cents on it, first it’s important to understand that free test is as important or even more important than simply total test.
After that… the first mistake someone can do is try to dictate their perfect levels by going with numbers.

a healthy level is completely individual and calculated by factors like mood, energy, libido, blood works (how are your other health markers).

guy number 1 could feel his best on 550 total t and his bloodwork would also be the best there and not so much when he’s around 900 while guy number 2 could feel his best on the top range.

you’re right in Canada they’re more rigid about it but you know why? Because they’re doing it the right way. They are TREATING clients and it’s results rather than only bringing you to X Levels and then saying gl in life! Like most us clinics do.

so to answer your questions… if you’re all about health and your actual script is having you feel well, energic and all is fine why would you try higher if you’re feeling perfect right now, what are you seeking? If you’re not and your bloods results(TT and free test) are still low then obviously a dose should be raised.

and if you’re trying to have an edge for the gym and be closer to supraphysiological levels then yes you should up your dose, most likely self administering like mentionned above because most doctors won’t do it.

So if you produce labs that are still considered hypogonadal by canadian standards to Dr.'s there tell you "tough." Well glad we have not, yet, handed control over to our "benevolent masters" in .gov for our health care.

JUST SUPPLEMENT YOUR SCRIPTED DOES WITH TEST YOU OBTAIN AND STOP ALLOWING OTHERS TO DICTATE TO YOU HOW YOU TREAT YOUR MEDICAL NEEDS.

Yeah that’s the max dose as explained by two different doctors to me, plus it says that in the drug information leaflet’s of Canadian Delatestryl, and Depo-Testosterone thats the max. That’s why I’m wondering if anyone on here has been scripted higher doses of enanthate/cypionate? Those are the only two injectable esters of testosterone available for prescription with in Canada as well… undecanoate ester as an oral pill is also available, and testosterone base as pellets, creams, gels, patches etc.

Lol I definitely know what you mean, and I always have supplemented in earlier years without a doctor’s prescription. I’m just very interested to know if any Canadians prescribed TRT has legally obtained doses higher than 100mg a week depot injection from a physician?

Lol honestly I feel good on 100mg a week, and I do get to self administer my injections ( which is awesome), but I used to feel way better cruising on 150-250 a week… so I’ll see what my next blood panel reads. I just been informed doctors can’t legally prescribe higher than 100mg a week.?

That’s false I have a script of 175mg , a close friend of mine never did steroid or even train and he’s on 125 weekly. How would that make sense anyways? That’s like saying to clients in Canada : hey you fucktards regardless of your levels and how your body process the synthetic hormones we cap this **** at 100mg! **** it if it only brings you to 475 Total test! 😂😂

it is true though that they reeally don’t like going higher than I would say 125-150. The problem is most people don’t go through endos who spécialise in that and that only. And good ones. Regular doctors / family doctors will prescribe you if needed but their scared because their knowledge is very limited when you start digging deep in testosterone therapy.

Yes knowledge is very limited regarding TRT in the medical community. But I do know the prescribing guidelines vary greatly between CA, and U.S alone. For example… Pfizer’s Depo-Testosterone is available in both countries. On Pfizer’s website they have the prescribing guidelines for Depo-Testosterone available for physicians… both countries guidelines are separated. The dose not exceeding 400mg/month is in Pfizer’s Canadian prescribing guidelines. Also health Canada has guidelines for physicians available online for Testosterone therapy as a whole that also mentions not exceeding that dose. But from what you tell me about your friend being on 175mg a week at least answer’s my question… that Canadian doctors can prescribe higher doses if deemed necessary. ( I know Canadians can get scripts from U.S and shipped to Canada, which could possibly circumvent Health Canada guidelines as well.?)

I realized I mixed up your 175mg script, as your friends script. That does answer my question for this thread, if you get your TRT Prescription from a Canadian physician, and pharmacy?
(A fun fact… Pfizer’s Depo-Testosterone is only available in one concentration, 100mg/ml in Canada… but in two concentrations in U.S, 100mg/ml, and 200mg/ml). I appreciate your unbiased response to my question.

I am having a hard time believing its capped at 100mg per week. I happen to be 100mg which put me in around 750-850. I am gonna ask my Doc next time we chat.

This is a page from Delatestryl’s prescribing guidelines for physicians in Canada. I’m gonna ask my endocrinologist too. But I read that, and was told by my MD that’s the max. Let me know if your doc says something else? Thanks

Im not sure what you want me to answer here sir… you asked me a question I answered.. are you saying I’m lying? Regardless of what you’re telling me the "guidelines" 100mg is not the maximum dose prescribed in Canada. There’s people with 250-300mg weekly scripts.

Those pics are blurry, but it says "usual dose", not the maximum dose. I think the one sentence you drew over says "In general total doses of over 400 mg a month are not required..".

And it's not like dr.'s can't use their own judgment, when medicating patients.

I’m just saying there is MAX doses for lots of prescription doses. Yes drs will prescribe higher doses, but doesn’t mean the max documented.?
Ps I can pull up more info from health Canada and delatestryl, depo-testosterone, and taro-testosterone if u wanna see max dose written.?

Nah, I'm not that invested to be honest, since I don't live in Canada. But as we saw from Math's case, you can get prescribed a higher dose.

If I were you, I'd wait for the blood test results and stop stressing about it. Your dose may be just right for you, and if it isn't, then you can start the convo about your dose with your doc and go from there.
