Hi Everyone,

I did some shuttle runs the other day. I am nothing what I used to be; but, I realize huffing air is a good thing.

Are shuttle runs the best way to build aerobic capacity?

I'm guessing all that sprinting, starting up again, bending over to touch the ground, etc. is essential. Your thougts?

There's lot's of great ways to build aerobic capacity. I wouldn't say any one way is quickest or best though. I like to switch things up at times to keep from getting bored. Jump rope for a few weeks, then back to sprints, rucking, free running, sports and anything that has you huffing air as you say is going to be good.

Any form of HIIT is great. I'd tell anyone looking for great all around cardio and endurance training should look at boxers and kick boxers training. Keeping your arms up in defense while continually ducking and throwing is incredibly difficult. Bag work, jump rope, sprints, etc will all help tremendously.

As to shuttle runs, yes, that will certainly improve your conditioning.
