quick question for Kitchen Chemist

i know this might not be the exact forum for this question but i didnt see any other forum to place it in so here goes....

Kitchen Chemist - in your TEnan 50ml/250mg recipe it states that you like to melt powder down to a liquid to see how much displacement it takes up.... what method do you use to melt the powder to a liquid?
