Can anyone tell me what a gold/yellow name means? And what are the astricks after some members names?

The gold names are for members who have made more than one donation to the board. Grey for one donation. The astricks are for members who wish to browse the boards, but not show where they are looking.

Keep an eye out for a sticky explaining all this. With the recent change in rules regarding PMs and such, we're gonna put all the info in one place so as people join, they will be able to know what it all means from the get go.
