Pre/Post Workout Meal guidelines

Just wondering what the guidelines were before and after working out.

Right now I have chicken breast and veggies pre workout, and a wpi shake with some oats mixed into it post workout.
 
theres many threads on this topic and multiple stickies. Search around and youll find more than you ever though imaginable

my pre and postWO shakes are damn near identical.
