Personal trainers, how has business been lately for you?

I'm just curious what everyone else is doing. I recently got back into this a few months ago, and I'm having such a hard time getting people. I've approached people in the gym and offered a free workout session to them, I've put out flyers, business cards, posted ads online, I'm just having such a hard time getting a client base right now. I'm almost wondering if bodybuilding has hurt my personal training. I see all of these scrawny little dip****s putting people through PX90 type crap, and here I am a diet guru with 10x more knowledge than these guys and I'm struggling!! Maybe its just a hard time right now with people's money? I'm not a quitter, and I'd hate to just throw in the towel on this one, but I've sat around the gym wasting so much frikken time trying to get clients I'm about ready to just say the hell with it. Whats it like for everybody else right now? I'm just curious. Thanks

Do you work at more than one gym? How many hours are you working? Do you post online like Craiglist? Do you think you'd be comfortable doing any sport specific training? Do you know any type of sport specific training? With Spring coming up, some kids maybe looking to get in shape for Football season already...

You maybe have done and looked into all this...but if you haven't just don't limit yourself to one place or type of training. If you're a diet guru, no matter if clients want p90x type bodies or bodybuilder bodies you should be able to give it to them. Don't put yourself in such a small niche....expand and be willing to help John Doe get his p90x body...even if you think he's a "scrawny sh*t"....

Look into local high school and see if anyone is hiring a strength and conditioning coach. The money won't be huge, but it's experience and it's something...it also won't take all of your time...
