I have used L-theanine in 200 mg capsules, now I have bought bulk powder.
My question is, how do I come close to 200mg when dosing powder?

Thank u.

You can't. You will need a scale because powders vary greatly and it is difficult to approximate for you.

It's rather safe substance, so I see no problem in measuring by volume (with risk to take more or less). I myself use 0,625cc scoop and it's about 500mg of fluffy low density theanine powder, you could extrapolate if yours is of the same consistency. But I nkow that, because I weighted it multiple times to get used to eyeball/scoop it. So that being said it's the rule of thumb to get scale if you're using powders.

You don't know what his powder might be cut with so it could be different. That's the issue.

Sorry I don't get your point.. In case when the powder isn't 98-99% pure but is cut with something else by unknown amount, then measuring it by volume or weight is pointless. And using of it too, actually. But if we're talking of homogeneous powder with 99+% of active substance, then it is possible to "come close" to needed dosage with scoop. And if OP's powder is of the same density I mentioned, then my hint could be helpful. Scale is the best way, but scoop is the acceptable one when there's no need in precise figures. And theanine is very forgiving material.

If his bulk powder is "cut" with something then it isn't "bulk" powder nor is it a bulk powder supplier I would use.
If one is in the practice of using bulk power then they should be in possession and using a digital scale in the first place.
