Joint Pain/relief supplement

As what the title says, I’m looking for a joint pain/relief supplement. This will be for my father in law (been pushing supplements on the in-laws lol) he’s got chronic knee problems from age and overuse, so bad he will need knee replacement eventually and also now possibly something torn in his shoulder. He’s plays golf and is active but He’s not one to take supplements,so he kinda scoffed at the idea, so obviously I want one that will truly make a different him a believer lol. So out of literally any single supplement you can possibly think of out of your entire stack, what would be the best for pure joint pain relief.

A difference and him a believer* (I will work on my typos boys I promise)

Joint Support should actually remedy the situation if its joint related, PEA is only pain relief right? Tbh I dont know enough about PEA but ill tag @sns8778 for you, he will be able to give you a much more informed reply

That’s fine, definitely wasn’t just questioning you, and yeah I believe it’s mainly pain relief, but that’s also what he’s looking for, I wouldn’t mind a more pain relief because it would directly help his problem, joint xt looks great for actual ligament and tendon health long term but I feel like maybe his tissue/tendons are past the point of return and the pain relief would benefit him more, even though it does seem more like a temporary fix.

I would say if its that bad, he should probably be going to a healthcare professional

He is, he’s in rehab for his shoulder right now and goes to see about his knees it seems like every other month, as far as seeking medical healthcare goes he’s doing everything. This is simply something extra I want to do for him because he’s always in so much pain, so much so sometimes he sits out on family walks and activities.

PEA sounds like your best bet then!

Considering your FIL probably doesn't want to be rubbing CurcuPrime Gel on...

CEL Joint Edge would probably be at the top of the list.

Well actually he already uses a bunch of THC cream already, (legally) lol but I should have probably mentioned that, topical supplements are new to me so they are always an after thought. But yeah I don’t think he would stack creams, I could always ask him though. Ps he does also get cortisone shots.

I am a 57 yr old powerlifter. Joint Support XT is the most effective single joint supplement I have found. I also take lots of fish oil and Cissus, but he will notice a difference within a week of taking Joint Support XT.

If topicals aren't a hard sell, CurcuPrime gel will always be my #1 suggestion, been a godsend for me. Added benefit it can be used where the pain is.

If the pill route, with Joint Edge you'll still be getting a good dose of CurcuPrime, but some of the ingredients like TamaFlex and NEM have a bunch of studies showing pain relief/better range of motion within a week or two, so something that he could potentially 'feel' kicking in pretty quick.

Damn good information, off topic kinda but now im slightly interested in the curcuprime gel for me, im not a lotion person and hate cream but the idea of gels is warming up to me, the spot treatment sounds perfect for my feet and ankles, i do a lot of cardio now so they are always sore. I’ve played with Curcumin once and it was actually probably about 8 months ago. I tried Curowhite for 2 months and didn’t really notice a difference, I wasn’t expecting a miracle either.

tbh it is more of a 'lotion/cream' type consistency... but its dry to the touch within ~5 minutes, you'd never know you put it on. Tops of feet/ankles are where I normally use it, sometimes knees. Between all my sports injuries and arthritis, makes walking much, much easier lol.

Value is also one of the best parts. 1 pump will be good for a lot of people that use it, so a bottle will last you 100 days. Even at 2 pumps/day you're getting almost 2 months worth.

I just got home from a long night of work, and an old injury is KILLING Me tonight.
I saw this, and immediately ordered some.
Hopefully it'll help (I do have a regular Dr., I'm just looking for some extra relief).
Thanks, guys!

:)

I'm sorry to hear that - I know it sucks when they pop back up.

PEA Relief is great for inflammation and pain relief and it doesn't work like a pain pill, it works by helping with systemic inflammation and also injury related inflammation.

The dosage is 1 to 2 capsules per day. For injuries that are really bothering you, I'd start with 2 caps per day because PEA is something that builds up in your system for best and quickest results.

Here's a link to the write up for anyone that wants to learn more about it; the write up is very detailed: https://seriousnutritionsolutions.com/product/pea-relief-90-veg-caps/

Joint Support XT would be my choice for anything that is joint related and it starts working fast for most people.

PEA Relief is great for a lot of things. It helps with pain relief via inflammation, but helps with systemic inflammation which is much more involved that a lot of people realize. The write up goes into a lot of details, so its easier to link to that than to write a novel for a post: https://seriousnutritionsolutions.com/product/pea-relief-90-veg-caps/

Both are staples for me!

I hit PEA pretty hard (1500mg) for 2-3 weeks and and have backed down now to 1g. I got a lot of pain relief from it in about a week. It DID make my stomach upset (not nausea, hard to describe, but very noticeable) with or without food for a few days an hour or so after taking, lasting a few hours. I generally have an "iron gut" so I found it odd. Anyway, it went away. Annoying lower back pain is gone. I feel a bit looser in the AM also. Knees and shoulder feel better as do my elbows (in that order of improvement). Also taking Cissus which hopefully will help my tendonitis heal.

SNS Cissus @ 6 caps
CEL Joint Edge
Krill Oil @ 3grams

The combo of Cissus and Eggshell Membrane is amazing. If he commits to it, he will get great improvement.

I have older folks in my family I get these for and they are amazed at the results. They thought they were too old to benefit, the issues were going on too long to ever get better. These supps proved them wrong.

Were you using ours or someone else's?

The reason I ask is that ours is 600 mg. per capsule, so 1500 mg. wouldn't be doable.

Yeah, I misspoke in my other thread / log (I was going from memory, :( )

different brand

There have been quality and absorption issues with Palmitoylethanolamide supplements for years.

There are some brands that claim to sell that raw material for less than a legitimate one costs to make.

We have never, not a single time that I know of, had anyone mention any type of stomach issues with PEA Relief.

Without the list of product and ingredients I mention I my above post. With my body and ache I have i don t think I will still be lifting weight I am 47

Wasn’t trying to question, just haven’t gotten those as recommendations yet, and don’t think they are marketed for joint health, interesting.
