the problem isn't the diet itself... it's what happens when you come off that particular diet and the rebound effects of it because people typically on these diets haven't learned HOW to eat or WHAT types of carbs to eat that are best for them.
I don't think there's anything overly wrong with them as long as people know to slowly re-introduce them back into their diet but most seems to think... great - I lost the weight now I can eat carbs again and they quickly gain back 10-15lbs most of which will be water and glycogen weight. But they don't know this and it wrecks havoc with their minds.
I lost 116 pounds on Atkins about 6 years ago been body building for 4. I am 40 pounds heavier and the same bf% worked for me but I was so intrigued in how I could change my body that I learned so much else
