Ephedrine confusion

I'm completely confused. Ephedrine is still legally available at any number of online supplement stores. Recently I purchased some 10 mg ephedrine w/ caffeine. There were no problems. No registering required etc. However, I went to purchase some 25 mg ephedrine and they demand registration, plus they won't ship to Oregon. I realize that Oregon has implemented strict laws regarding ephedrine in an attempt to combat the huge meth problem. I did some legal research and saw no references to the legal status of ephedrine based upon dose of the individual tabs. I'm I the only one that is confused?

Ephedrine Hcl is legal in most states. The site you bought it from obviously wasen't based in oregon and should not have shipped it there. The ephedra Extract used for supplements (not for bronchodilators) is banned.
