Can PWOS cause breathing probs?

Morning,

Finally at the point where I'm thinking of seeing an endo about this, but wanted to run it by you guys and see if you think this could be PWO related.

I was taking 1 Swagger and 1 Scoop of Jack3d 4-5 days per week for a few months (weekends off). I'd also take a week off here and there. I would sometimes take 2 scoops of Jack3d in place of Swagger. As the effects started to dwindle a little I would sometimes take 1 Swagger and 1.5-2 Scoops of Jack3d...and maybe a cup of coffee if I was dragging from a big night the night before. I never felt ill effects of any kind. Just a hell of a rush.

I got what I thought was a chest cold. I was coughing a lot and fighting for air for a while. My doc thought it was bronchitis and treated it as such.
So, the coughing went away... but it still feels like someone is sitting on my chest most of the time. I'm experiencing something known as 'air hunger' where you feel the need to yawn, but you can't. From start of the 'chest cold' to now has been about 3 months. Doc prescribed an inhaler and said it's probably Asthma, but it seems odd to me that a relatively healthy guy who's been running 20-25 miles per week would suddenly develop Asthma.

Anyway, I stopped taking PWO's and continue to workout (though getting back to this self motivation thing is painful). I've dropped a bunch of weight and puffiness too...which I'm glad about, but I'm not functioning well with the breathing issue. It's been about 7 weeks since I've stopped PWOS and switched from coffee to tea.

So, ending this long vignette... Could the breathing issues be from overuse of PWOS? I've used different ones through the years and never had any issues in the past. This is all I've been taking, other than synthroid for hypothyroid and the very occasional toke...:smoker: (not since the breathing issues, and rarely before that...not cigs).
Could things like ephedrine use in the past have caused long term issues, as it's a 'broncilator'? Just trying to think of anything that may have caused it and a solution for the problem.
I am functioning, but breathing has become something I have to think about now, and not just a natural function. It's pretty miserable actually, and messing with my vocal abilities as well.

Anyone heard of this? Any suggestions?

... anyone suggest a good endo in NYC?

In a word, Yes. Any stimulant can affect breathing in any different way. Long term problems are very doubtful, but short term bronchial constriction can happen from any number supplements.

Hey mate. Are you producing any phlem?

I had a bad chest which lasted a good 3 months too. It started as a cough and then left me with a tight chest and difficulty breathing, sleep apnea and genral shortness of breath. Although this was no caused by supps as i wasnt using any. Intrestingly im very much into my cardio to, I found that running and cycling during the winter months wreaked my lungs and left them quite imflamed, well thats what the xrays suggested. The doctor suggested that i may have broncitus and then asthma too, he gave me a pump and antibiotics which i didnt take any of. I just rested and it gradually improved with the weather. May I ask, did it get at its worst through the winter?? To be fair weed dont help the chest, so just give it some time, im sure a healthy man such as yourself will recover fine, even if the ephedrine has messed things up im sure it wont be perminant if it is that... Anyways talk to the doc again and get some xrays to put your mind at rest.

What is 'short term'? Any idea? Thanks for the quick reply!

By short term, I mean the half life of the compound. if you cease for a few days, it should go away. if it does not, I would get a second opinion, instead of letting a doc try to guess your problem, get one who will actually test for issues.

Thanks guys.
Skitzoid... sounds very much like what I've got man.
This did start in winter. I'm wondering if it's partially stress related too.

Short is I guess I need to see a doc. It's been months, not days... thx
