This might sound crazy but when I start dieting I start feeling samll. I am about 4 weeks out from my goal. I am not competing just playing around trying out what works best. Strength is till pretty good and my wife says I am looking better but damn sometimes I look in the mirror and I don't look as shredded as I thuink I shoudl be for the work I am puttin into it.

I guess I just got the cranky dieting blues. Anyone else experience this?

Of course bro. Its part of dieting. The mental aspect of this game is without a doubt the toughest.

But if you're getting compliments, that should tell ya something.

Always go by what others think/say because our weird bodybuilding minds love to play tricks on us.

Tell me about it. I always feel small when I wake up. But when my co-workers say I am looking more cut every week, I know I am doing something right.

After you diet afew times, and you figure out what carbs help/hurt your body, you won't feel small anymore.. As you can tell, I had that problem once.. ;)

just got done with a cut and felt smaller, it also pissed me off b/c i wasnt growing (my goal is to be a beast)... it helped when others said i was much leaner/ripped but didnt help when they said I looked smaller lol

Im about to start bulking now (taking it easy for 2 weeks to increase diet/not overtrain/not get sick) but trust me dude. YOu will feel like you first did when you first started lifting. I feel like a fucking rabid animal in its cage about to let loose in 1 week. I CANNOT FUCING WAIT TO GROW AGAIN

Cutting sucks I hear you on that, the mind plays dirty tricks on us because we see our body every day and can sometimes have unreasonable expectations.

I also think you need to get over that "hump" that is that period where your muscles look depleted and you've lost a little size... so your depressed, but your not quite shredded yet. those couple of weeks SUCK. keep pluggin away bro.

Stay the course man! lol

Oh the mental aspect is by far the worst part of this lifestyle. Getting smaller from coming off cycle and cutting is hard to take if you've only recently achieved your size/weight goals. The glorious thing about it all is that once you've gained the knowledge of how to bulk and cut successfully it gets easier and you relax about your percieved size because you know you can get big again..or bigger.

That's comforting, lol.

Exactly. After the definition starts kickin' in pretty good, you'll start looking better and you'll be happier.
The deflated/undefined period at the beginning stinks. Carbs at the right time keep the depletion from being so bad though.

All good advice, stay the course and keep your diet on point. We all feel this way but once I get down to 5-6% I feel small in a shirt but when that bitch comes off I look huge in the mirror.
