Thoughts on dutasteride and finasteride.

Used fin in the past and didn't really notice a whole bunch from it. Was thinking of trying dutasteride. I have high dht. Twice the normal values. I just can't comprehend how nuking dht can be good for a man. Anyone have any opinions or thoughts or experiences ?

I have not used either of these (and wouldn't).
Some guys Seem to use it without any Apparent issues.
But one thing is certain: Some guys who use it wish they never had. And Some of them say they are never the same again, after they use it. There are communities of guys that get together to discuss their experiences. You know how these things go: Some of those who have used them, and never had any apparent issues, will say, "Hogwash! I've used it, so has Joe Blow, and we're both fine!"

I'm not saying they're not.
What I'm saying is that for the horror stories that I've read and heard from guys, it would never be worth it for me to try it (except possibly for life threatening Cancer treatment).

If you use it, and are happy afterwards, I'm happy for you.
I just wanted to share a word of warning about possible effects.

:-)

Thanks man yea I see a mix of reviews on it. It makes sense though. I always thought of dht being the alpha hormone. Affecting mood, drive, libido. Seems why I always feel great when running dht derivatives like masteron. Not sure if it's the same though. Also not sure if would affect body comp as well?

The main negative effects that I remember being discussed are impotence (sometimes permanent), and anxiety/depression (sometimes permanent).
There may have been other discussions about body composition, but honestly, I was so focused on the effects that I mentioned, that if there were, I just don't remember.

I am using duta for awhile, no sides other than MAYBE a bit softer around the body... but I would never recommend it. If you want to go that path I would go topical or try everything else first. Obviously minox, but things like red light therapy, dermarolling, ketoconazole, massage, hair transplant etc

Thanks man. How's it working for you?

Threads like this make me very happy I love being bald. Truthfully I always felt hair was a pain in the ass.

I just think the risk of sides is a bit high when you think about what you are using it for... BUT people like me, really need it in order to have an ounce of confidence in this cruel world haha. It really does work though, but need to address multiple ways for growth.

I think 3x a week is a good start

Awesome thanks man and yes I feel that. Currently doing minoxidil, microneedling, and ghkcu so hoping the dut added in will really help

I’ve used both and honestly had a pretty good experience with dut. For me the difference was noticeable after a few months

i had a monthly log back in 2009 to middle of 2010ish on my experience on brand name propecia on the elite fitness forum. it was effective for me at about the 6 month mark but i had to stop due to side effects that i could not tolerate. the main sides for me were my legs would ache constantly, especially my femurs. also my face was puffy, my body odor was putrid and i would stink even 20 minutes out of the shower, my armpits would constantly smell like onions, definitely less vascular and held more bodyfat around the hips. i had no change in sex drive or ability to maintain an erection but i was much younger at the time. scalp was less tight on the top starting at the 3 month mark, 6 months hair was maybe looking a little less dry. pretty much by 12 months my hair was thicker on the top and people at work noticed. pretty much peak effectiveness was noticed at 12 months and no change after that. after stopping finasteride all my side effects went away after 7 to 10 days
