  1. Article: Lose Fat With Cheat Meals

I'd say a cheat MEAL if fine on a training day, but a chea DAY is better on an off day bc you don't want to negatively impact your performance with greasy and/or allergenic ingredients. I would never have a cheat meal before a workout. I also have to state that alcohol "cheating" has a bigger...
  2. Article: 8/6/3 Workout Routine

Powerlifting and BB are definitely sports. What the author Doesn't seem to understand is that the final set of each big lift is always beyond the prescribed reps! If it's your 5's week it is 5,5, and then 5+. this set of 5 or More is a true maximal effort and will result in rep PR's, especially...
  3. Article: Boosting Your Back Squat

Hahaha yes the guy in the smith was the first thing I noticed. Nothing else to see here. Hello and goodbye.
  4. Article: Train The Movement, Not The Muscle

Decent article... I agree that the programming will work for increasing strength (1-3RM) in the big lifts, but how useful is this for concurrently gaining mass/muscle. I understand that nutrition will dictate mass gaining potential, but is it necessary to have some higher rep work (8-12) for...
  5. 1,3 dimeth

I owe most of my PR's to DMAA... Nothing revs my engine like 75mg and 300mg caff
  6. Opinions on my program?

This. 5/3/1 is relatively easy at first, which is great for getting your form together. It turns into a freaking war after a while as the weights become much closer to your actual potential. I have used 5/3/1 with the Boring But Big program for most of the last 2 years. I've seen great gains...
  7. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

Who are you?! Get lost man! Do you compete? Have you dieted? Are you strong? You brought up norton... I couldn't care less about throwing names around. I'm not interested in talking to you about anything. Please ignore my posts like you promised you would.
  8. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

Yes please do skip over my posts. I don't enjoy bickering with you. I am a huge proponent of training and dieting. I coach 30+ sessions a week as a CSCS, in addition to my own training sessions. This is my whole life. If you re-read my post you'll see that I stated that high level PL is...

  10. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

Layne who? I'm a noob right? I diet on 1200 cals w no carbs, 3 hours LISS cardio, and I cut my water on Monday for a Saturday competition... Cmon i hope you're not trying to school me. I'm not sure what your point is. I am very healthy. I have tracked every kcal and macro for the last 2.5...
  11. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

Oh ok well I'm glad we have something to disagree on. Football players and their concussions... It has health implications Taekwondo martial artists are notorious for their hip replacements in their 40's or even 30's Basketball players and their acl tears. For them it's not so big a deal when...
  12. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

I never said I'm consistently injuring myself. Maybe you weren't directing that comment toward me specifically. On the other hand, I would posit that anyone that has never had at least a tweak from training is either very new to training or using those pink dumbbells you refer to. My...
  13. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

I have to disagree with the notion that training super heavy is healthy. I LOVE going heavy, and I train at or above 90% of 1rm for months at a time during a strength phase... HOWEVER, any time the bar stalls and you grind through the sticking point (or even fail) you're going beyond what is...
  14. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

I haven't had less than 300g of protein in a day in many years... I was using the doctor recommendation as an example of misinformation from "credible sources" I'm sure most of us have had strains, pulls, overuse tendinitis, tendonosis, bursitis, arthritis... In addition to the general aches...
  15. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

He said 2-3x bodyweight, not the frequency of 2-3x a week. Either way, both of those are beyond what any MD would recommend for health. Eating for performance and health CAN be the same, but not in the iron game! If you want to be beast (lean or not) you're going to take your nutrition beyond...
  16. Article: Are Eggs The Perfect Food?

When I'm in contest condition, I start every day with 6 hard boiled eggs. My breath stinks but I love the meal and the results stand on their merit. *as a side note, this guy says egg whites are chemicals in a carton... My egg whites are "quick whites" and the ingredient list couldn't be...
  17. Article: Bringing Up Lagging Legs

There are dozens of viable options. I like the simplicity of 5/3/1 or stronglifts 5x5. Just have a look around and see what you can commit to. Cardio isn't a bad thing, but if you're not POUNDING calories your bodyweight and training numbers won't improve. You must eat to grow! Lift heavy 3-5...
  18. Article: Bringing Up Lagging Legs

Lol yes you are a god among men... 235x5. I recommend you get on a basic program and give it a year or so before you get creative. Set ambitious goals for yourself and plan the next year as a journey for 400lb dead, 300lb squat, 225lb bench or something like that. Front squats are great, but...
  19. Article: Bringing Up Lagging Legs

Hey I don't have any experience with restriction training, but I imagine it hurts like hell. I do worry about vein thrombosis and or compartment syndrome, but I would love to see accelerated gains in the hams and calves. What has your experience been with the method?
  20. Article: Bringing Up Lagging Legs

I think that it's an ambitious day, but I don't think anyone can perform to their best potential on deadlift 5x5 after a squat 5x5. You may want to have another leg day for dead or have your deadlift as the opener/main event on your back day. Those are definitely some great moves though
