Well you can take it after everyone or you can test it yourself. For me, the optimum eating time after workout is 1-2 hours. That way I feel the best !
A belt isn't necessary but I feel what you say because I had the same problems like you because I didn't warmed up properly most of the time and used bad form because I was lazy.
Fixed the form + pumped dem legs and it went ok :)
45 lbs and you are also a fighter.
With the conditioning work that you need and the fact that you must likely need to stay off test, it isn't possible to only put only muscle.
If you are ok with gaining some fat...but I guess that you're not
