The thing that both percentages and RPE are trying to do is get weights in your hands that will lead to sufficient stimulus and desired training effect. That’s it. This is why Jim has talked about manipulating training max values within the system to whatever seems to let guys get the best...

    Building Back Up

Heavier you are at a given level of muscle, the thicker your neck. Thicker your neck, worse your sleep apnea becomes. The worse you oxygenate in your sleep, the more the body thickens blood to try to compensate for insufficient oxygen supply. Many heavyweights who slim down substantially find...

There’s a reason they say being leaner gives you less sides and more results from steroids/testosterone. I have generally seen less need for AI and less acne the lower bodyfat I’ve gotten. Plus obviously BP and blood thickness aren’t challenged has hard with lower absolute bodyweight.

    Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

Man that’s quite a novel I bet at this point! If you take one thing from it, I hope you see that the journey of strength is not always easy or linear. I named this log after the Odyssey for a reason: you will be tested, diverted, and generally met with resistance & doubt at MANY points along...

Another great thing about this meet is that you basically have great values for training maxes if you use percentage ranges at all guide your next block of training. You can just program off 225/200/235 and feel confident you’ll be lifting in the right ballpark of effort.

Lol I don’t have any issue with them, but I don’t know if I have ever intentionally done 7s honestly.

    Journey of a newbie lifter

Nice work man. Keep pushing those boundaries as you can! Inch by inch, one rep here, 5lbs there, maybe an extra set at times - that’s how it’s done. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but every brick adds up eventually. It’s fine if the last rep or two has a little English on pulling/rowing movements...

    We cuttin now ✂️

A lot of Sundays nobody comes to the gym when I do (usually arrive 8-9am). I will arrive alone & often stay alone, which I don’t prefer - but if I only trained when other people could come, I’d have no gains! The training has to get done if you want results, so you either want it enough to pound...

No, not unless you have been feeling achey basically for eons (since you have been doing 6-8mg daily for as long as I can recall). But definitely not your recent/transient aches. Bloods look good homie, really solid numbers for year round wellness. If you wanted to raise e2 (which seems...

I just did the math: those squats were 15,000lbs of volume at/over 319lbs bar weight. And getting 12 on those hacks was BRUTAL too; if I lose any muscle leaning out it won’t be for lack of training stimulus to keep it!

Wear them! Your knees aren’t getting any younger and you don’t get any points for wearing them out faster than you need to.

I mean, if 4am is the only time you have to train then it’s hardcore. But if you could have gotten more recovery first then yeah, you should have stayed in bed lol.

    Segansational's Motivation Log

Congratulations on a great first meet! I’m glad to hear it was such a positive experience; I expected it would be. I also think you made good decisions for openers and throughout. You have the muscular potential to do more on your lower body lifts right now, but didn’t have enough training time...

Also, on the deloads - if you feel refreshed and solid going into the next wave, that’s basically what matters. So if you feel stronger doing things a certain way AND seeing good readiness/progression in the following cycle, you can feel good about what you’re doing. Like Kleen said, it’s...

GP’s Old Man With A Plan Log

Do you have access to microplates? Going up just 1-2.2lbs for a while could let you keep it heavier longer before waving the weight down some. Which, you might even get stronger faster anyway waving TM back at some point if it allows volume to go up significantly. Win-win
