Developing the upper chest while minimizing front delt involvement

Well it's something to try at least. If you can do flys as well without hurting your shoulders, they are a great exercise. I would be worried, however, that the heavier you get with flys the more risk you might have of hurting your already compromised shoulders. It may be safer to stick with...

    meeting a high-level trainer

Well I suppose I am a bit skewed in my opinion on this. Of course consulting a trainer can be incredibly useful, but traveling the world to see celebrity trainers like the OP suggested? I think that is more than a little obnoxious. In any decent sized city, there are surely some reputable...

Developing the upper chest while minimizing front delt involvement

Use dumbbells, you'll be able to have more control dealing with your shoulder issues than with a barbell. I would suggest ONLY doing upper chest exercises. Most lifters already have overdeveloped lower pecs, so I would cut out any decline movements. I like to do an entire incline series with...

    meeting a high-level trainer

Not worth it. You can learn everything you need to know from the library and the internet for free. Seriously. It's all about the amount of passion you put into it.

    Cut calories or Cut carbs?

White potatoes are complex carbs, but they are higher on the glycemic index than sweet potatoes, therefore they will cause your blood sugar level to rise more rapidly than sweet potatoes. Read: white potatoes are more useful in a post-workout meal than at other times. Please elaborate?

    Cut calories or Cut carbs?

I disagree. In fact, my carb intake on workout days is still too low. YOU WILL NOT GET FAT from carb intake, so long as you are below your maintenance calorie level. You will, however, have trouble putting on mass if complex carbs do not make up a significant portion of your diet at least on...

    Cut calories or Cut carbs?

I agree with runner_79 for the most part. For me personally, my breakdown on lifting days is more or less 40% carbs/40% protein/20% fat -- and on non-lifting days it's about 25% carbs/50% protein/25% fat. As far as the actual numbers, on non-lifting days I take in ~2000 cal and under 150 carbs...

    Height Survey

After seeing a lot of stats on here, I'm curious: How many of you are over 6'0" and how many are under? I'll refrain from making any conjectures until after we see the results!

    Cut calories or Cut carbs?

That conclusion is moronic. Cutting calories is the only thing that will make a difference. In order to cut calories, you may have to cut carbs, as maintaining proper protein and fat intake is essential for preserving muscle while cutting. Cutting carbs, however, is not a necessary condition...

What are some effective weight loss pills?

This is true, and I was thinking of this very thing while I wrote my reply. Here's the problem with that mentality as I see it though: You come to rely on diet supplements as a crutch instead of creating effective dietary habits. Believe me, I've used my share of diet supplements over the...

What are some effective weight loss pills?

Proper diet-a-drol. I know you don't want to hear it, but proper nutrition and heavy lifting will yield FAR GREATER results than the strongest diet pills. I switched to lean gains a week ago and am down 2 lbs of fat (I don't carry a lot of extra fat these days in the first place) and stronger...

    just starting out..

Well I was mostly recommending the book as a reference, and that's what I've used it for, but it does recommend routines for beginners as well, which will be more helpful than what you listed. Two day split for a beginner? Weighted side bends? Apparently in your routine people need bulky...

    just starting out..

I'd buy The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding (Invalid Link Removed). It's a great general resource if you're just getting into lifting. Even though I've lifted for over a decade I still go back to it from time to time because it is such a great reference.

    Chipotle Mexican Grill

It's not ideal, but when I go there I go for the salad bowl. Lettuce, fajita veggies, black beans, chicken, mild salsa, corn salsa, and some cheese. Should come out to around 400 cal.
